Posted June 2Jun 2 Thanks to those who joined the launch event on SyncTube to get a sneak peek at the 25 one hit wonder artists chosen for this contest - now time to reveal the songs competing for the 10th gold medal of The Best Song Contest In The World... Ever!To submit your votes, simply rank your 10 favourite songs using the Eurovision voting system (12 points for your favourite, 10 for your second favourite and 8 through 1 for your 3rd through 10th favourites) and send them via PM to myself (Brer). Note that you cannot vote for your own song. If you have a song competing in the contest you must vote or your song will face the ignominious fate of being replaced in the results by a randomly selected Mr Blobby deep cut having a 33% deduction from its points total, likely sending it hurtling down the final scoreboard. You can still submit votes as a guest even if you didn't send a song yourself, the more the merrier!I shall set a deadline of 23:59 BST on Friday 13th Saturday 14th June 2025 with a view to announcing the results on Saturday 14th Sunday 15th June, giving you all about 11 12 days to familiarise yourself with the songs as much as you see fit before voting which I hope will be sufficient. Another SyncTube listenthrough featuring the actual songs from the contest this time will take place at some point during the voting period, not decided when yet.01 Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - The Mercy Seat02 They Might Be Giants - Purple Toupee03 Shocking Blue - Love Buzz04 Army Of Lovers - Obsession05 The Psychedelic Furs - Love My Way06 Young MC - Know How07 Alphaville - Sounds Like A Melody08 Annerley - Save Me09 Tracy Chapman - Give Me One Reason10 The Vapors - News At Ten11 Chantay Savage - Betcha'll Never Find12 White Town - Undressed13 Nu Shooz - Point Of No Return14 Mr. Oizo - Stunt15 2wo Third3 - Hear Me Calling16 Modern Talking - Atlantis Is Calling (S.O.S. For Love)17 Donna Lewis - Agenais18 Yo-Yo Ma and Bobby McFerrin - Stars19 The Icicle Works - Birds Fly (Whisper To A Scream)20 Classix Nouveaux - Never Never Comes21 Zager & Evans - Listen To The People22 Paula Cole - I Don't Want To Wait23 Cicero - That Loving Feeling24 Freiheit - The Land Of Fantasy25 Helen Reddy - Imagination(FYI for those who missed my fun fact from SyncTube - Annerley is the current moniker of Ann Lee of '2 Times' fame. Also, 'Stars' is there for Bobby McFerrin of course, Yo-Yo Ma being a no-hit wonder so I figured his collaboration was no harm x And all of these artists are UK one hit wonders bar Young MC who is a US (and Australian) one hit wonder so thanks to the one person who validated me typing up an entire extra paragraph to allow for such entries hehe)Will edit in some playlists here - if someone wants to beat me to making a Spotify and/or YouTube playlist go ahead (I believe all of the songs are available on Spotify, Freiheit are tagged as Münchener Freiheit but it is the same band), otherwise I'll make them myself some time soon!
June 2Jun 2 Author Don't think I've heard any of these songs so all fresh ears for me! A good handful here that I look forward to hearing a new (to me) song from.(yes including the Paula Cole song which I'm aware is probably a fair bit more well-known than anything else on here, it was discussed by the mods and ultimately allowed x)
June 3Jun 3 Interesting selection, I've heard a few of these but I'm not super-familiar with any (I only really remember the chorus to the Paula one).I always confuse Classix Nouveaux with Club Nouveau - have now checked and it's the latter whose 'Why You Treat Me So Bad' was sampled on Luniz - I Got 5 On It (and still would have been eligible here, maybe pending that). Will look forward to listening through them all.
June 3Jun 3 Have edited in a Spotify playlist. Let me know if I’ve used the wrong version of anything (or ask Bray to let me know).
June 3Jun 3 One of these exact songs I tried to enter but it had already been taken! And another one of the songs was my next backup! So those two songs will probably score very highly from me 🙂
June 3Jun 3 Nice selection! I only know Paula Cole, who is stretching the definition of one-hit wonder with this song that has four times more streams than her 'hit' 😂 Obviously a Dawson's Creek classique.Ann Lee! I thought about using one of hers but most of the stuff I know from her is very samey, this sounds completely different so good pick.Very intrigued by some of the names - artists I've never thought to look up further music by, really nice theme idea. June 3Jun 3 I had two artists in mind and wondered if my other option would be here (Bauhaus who only had one top 20 hit) but not quite! The listening session was a great warm-up yesterday (Mr Blobby hijacking proceedings and all) - looking forward to hearing the less well known songs from these artists now.
June 3Jun 3 I don’t think I know any of these (which is the point I guess lol) so will be an interesting listenthrough!

June 3Jun 3 It was really good hearing the hits from the artists during the event last night. Will get listening to the entries. There's only a couple of songs there I definitely know.
June 3Jun 3 Wow Tracy Give Me One Reason is such a beautiful song and something I’ve grown listening to it all the time. I hope it wins <3So many other artists I considered myself as well, so I think we’re in a good treat with this edition!!!

A classic and arguably the first true Goth record. Would've been hard not to give that the full marks from me.
June 3Jun 3 A lot here that I've never heard before so I'm looking forward to diving in to it all... there's a few I know already (Nick Cave, Paula Cole, Tracy Chapman) but nowhere near as many as usual - and only one that I actually bought the single of, that would be 'Undressed' by White Town - although I can't say I've heard it in a very long time

I laughed when she appeared yet again, such a weird artist to end up having to veto so often 😂 - and yet again was the one most close to being vetoed haha!
June 3Jun 3 Just did my first proper listen through and I knew a total of 2 songs! A lot of 80’s infused songs in there! This is going to be a ride
