Wiki has it as a compilation but it's more like a combo to me, the 2 albums stuck together

like back in the day I remember buying the first 2 Kasabian albums as a pack

but no clue about the rules

I've just heard two girls in Starbucks in Grimsby singing the "is it... stupid or is it... slow?" part of Manchild, so it's official. Manchild is TAKING OVER the coffee community, so I think it's on

  • I've been much less successful at chart predictions in 2025 (so far) than last year but this is a bit freaky! today's Spotify chart: 193. The Stranglers - Golden Brown !!! I assume this has to be

...songs can only count towards 1 studio album and 1 compilation for the charts

I didn't know this. I thought the label allocated which album the streams should apply to.

So does that mean that if, for example, Harry Styles released a Greatest Hits, that the streams would count towards that AND each of his three individual albums?

So, effectively, double counting?

Yep- we can already see this in Fleetwood Mac's Rumours and 50 Years. If someone streams "Go Your Own Way" it'll count towards both.

If people are calling ‘The Giver’ a country song and not country-pop, then ‘Manchild’ is that too.

I mean look at all the banjos playing in the background and instrumental!!!111

Yeah but streaming didn't matter back then so doesnt over complicate things 🤣🤣

Also id say Eds divide is another big one for this too

that's one of the silliest rules the OCC has invented

never understood why it has to count double

if I go to Spotify and search for Elton John, and then search for his album Sleeping with the Past

and I go and stream Sacrifice, why it has to give a streaming point to his greatest hits Diamonds? :D

should give a streaming point to Sleeping with the Past and that's it. No wonder Diamonds gets so many streams every week that are unaccounted for. :D

Ordinary back at 1 on Spotify 😂Sabrina at 2, 100k gap between them

Ordinary - 514,255

Manchild - 408,123

iTunes

1.Ordinary

5 manchild

Amazon

1 Ordinary

Manchild not top 10

Apple

1 Ordinary

2 manchild

I think Alex has got it 👏👏👏

Yeah, that’s not a big fall at all. Certainly not on The Giver levels. Think it might be a close one but staying at #2 the day after AND with a music video performing well, it could make the difference.

4 Addison songs have survived the album bomb from yesterday:

#28 Fame is a Gun

#81 Diet Pepsi

#173 New York

#197 Headphones On

intrigued to see how 'Fame is a Gun' holds up going forward as the drops were inevitable

It's a bigger drop than the giver tbf 🫣

The vinyls are a wildcard so if Sabrina has sold 3k+ she’ll still be ahead by quite a bit but if only 1k or so looks a struggle

Manchild is not showing on your amazon con it has profanities and is excluded from the list

We need to ask someone with a subscription to know where it is

It is sure up there just not showing up

#29, so not top 10 is correct but that's a strong start as far as Amazon is concerned!
