'Let Down' almost certainly would have done the 25% for a reset last week, but surely has done so again and must get one this week!

I've just heard two girls in Starbucks in Grimsby singing the "is it... stupid or is it... slow?" part of Manchild, so it's official. Manchild is TAKING OVER the coffee community, so I think it's on

  • I've been much less successful at chart predictions in 2025 (so far) than last year but this is a bit freaky! today's Spotify chart: 193. The Stranglers - Golden Brown !!! I assume this has to be

I think Alex is too nice and couldn’t deal with all the crazy stan accounts calling him all sorts of names for outstreaming everybody so gave a helping hand reminiscent of Bieber helping the Choir

I dont think he knows the British chart records tbf and probably doesn't even realise how close he is to it, this is hardly the same thing 🤣

Finally got rid of Ordinary 😭

It shows how huge Sabrina is right now to get a No.1 debut with a song that even has quite middling reviews. I'm not surprised at all to see it climbing again, her last couple of No.1s grew through the week I think.

Pleasing to see some other new songs taking off, I wonder if we can finally throw off the lingering 2024 hits now and properly get into 2025, six months in.

Looking good for Olivia Dean, I thought she'd be one of those under the radar forever acts who never managed a really big hit.

does anyone know how or in what context is Radiohead-let down is used on Tiktok?

I thought it had to do with the turmoil about tiktok closing down, but doesn't fit it's peaking now

What a relief!! Think Sabrina is safe for a number one this week!

Well it looked like it was getting too close to call yesterday, but with Sabrina back on top then Ordinary just might fall.

I wonder if it'll get a decrease in streams and go to DCL-2. Be something if he falls from the top with an increase.

I'm liking Dior. Add it to the Can't Decide pile of dance tracks taking off!

Imagine if she'd released an actually really good song...!

I think he's done it because of how close the battle is for the US #1.

I'm hoping Alex can keep the UK #1 just to witness the Buzzjack meltdowns.

Lol nah, its a tactic to get people to think hes being the nice guy who is unfairly treated so theyll support him. Playboi carti did the exact same thing to hold off Ariana and Selena in the US.

Person I like does something bad: Nah I get where they're coming from, people need to put themselves in their shoes

Person I don't like does something good: They're just doing it to make themselves look good, don't fall for it!

Yeah this seems more likely tbf

Besides Justin beiber knew he stood no chance at all thats why he did it , this is a close battle both sides of the Atlantic 🫣

I wouldnt normally say it. Plenty of people I don't like do good things, and plenty of people I like do terrible things, i'm just saying this is a tried and true method to gain sympathy in a close chart battle against a pop star. They play off the stereotype that pop stars and their fans are crazy chart obsessed and meanwhile claim they dont care so that neutrals choose to support them to send some kind of message. Travis Scott also did it, while he was pumping out a half dozen variants.

I mean isnt it convenient he chose not to say anything when Sabrina on day 1 looked like she might blow him out of the water or day 2 when she looked like she might decline in a major way and not be a threat, but on day 3 when the streams stabilized and it was revealed that they were within a couple chart points of each other in the US

I don't think that's Alex conceding or giving Sabrina a helping hand at all, he's probably just posting it to show support for a fellow artist and that he's enjoying Manchild! It's absolutely not comparable to Justin Bieber and the NHS Choir.

Fair enough in general but I think you might be reading too much into an Instagram story with no caption? I don't necessarily disagree in the case of Travis Scott (although I'm not sure I've seen him say anything about it, I don't always keep up with that sort of minutiae), but unless there's TMZ footage of Alex Warren cackling as he sends the all-clear to Warner employees to mass-consume and astroturf his single, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt!

Sorry, I wasn't clear. he also tweeted at the same time about how people on Twitter were being hostile, mentioning sabrina by name. Didnt tell anyone not to send hate Sabrina's way while she's getting far worse tweets with way more likes. Made sure to do just enough to get sympathy for himself while making Sabrina's fans look bad

GET IT SABBY CARPZ.

She really just is the moment. As you’ve said, if she can do this with a single that’s getting middling reviews… she’s in her BAG when the next big banger comes.

Manchild has massively grown throughout the week anyway, she’s great at an earworm that hits more with further listens. I felt the same with FFF to be fair.

I think my thoughts on his song are well documented, but this is WILD tin-foil hat wearing conspiracy theory territory lol
