“Back To Friends” coming for another new peak: #9 today and will surely overtake “Sapphire” if not “Blessings” too.

Is there a chance Ed could get that #10 to cross off the bingo card?

  • We’ve just had Sombr’s “Back To Friends” reaching the Top 10 in its 13th week so I don’t think that idea would work very well. People just consume music much more slowly now. Also if you did get rid

Aside, this could well be the first First Look of the year where every song played has actually peaked in 2025

  • Yeah I’m aware but the lead is way too big without big physical sales. Ordinary is chart royalty and it would be a shame if such a throwaway song like manchild got in the way of history. I will be

I could be wrong but Sapphire has been growing everywhere throughout the week I can’t see it dropping to 10

What's #10 in the mids, is it Tate? She and sombr are ahead on Spotify so I could see them both overtaking.

“Azizam” #10. Tate is #11.

Thanks, might be a bit much for Tate to overtake both Ed songs then, so he may have to wait longer for that elusive #10 peak.

Knowing Ed he probably get it then climbed and ruin it

To be honest, I would be surprised if Sapphire "only" peaked at #10, but you can't even rely on album release week boosting it enough to go higher anymore.

Album release is exactly 3 months from now

the weird thing is that the first 2 singles mostly did well cos of Amazon

Azizam went as high as #2 and Old Phone went top 5, while struggling on Spotify

but now it's the opposite, Saphire is #30 only on Amazon and been lower all week

It's almost as if spotify isn't the absolute dominant one and the streams are more evenly distributed 🤭

Thought some Beach Boys albums (like PET SOUNDS) could be back in the charts after the death of Brian Wilson

His death was yesterday and the Wednesday update only uses sales up to Tuesday, we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if any re-enter but I doubt any will unfortunately

That update is from 2 days before he passed. More likely to see an impact in next week's chart.

So the battle for #1

After first look Sabrina had a lead of 7400

At the next update Sabrina’s lead was 4565

The last update Sabrina’s lead was 2643

Sabrina began to increase in Spotify making #1 seem assured but Thursdays estimates have been known to be a little out of sync with trends

I give Sabrina a 95% chance of #1

Alex 5%

Sabrina’s now looking much more like a multi week #1 as well. Hopefully not another 10 weeker…

Sabrina will probably bring out another single before then.

Can Olivia Dean go top ten tomorrow? “nice to each other” has been stable in the bottom half of the Spotify top ten (Tuesday 10, Wednesday 8, Thursday TBD) after the first half of the week in the mid 20s.

No I think the surge came too late, it was still outside the top 20 on Wednesday and it's much lower on Apple. Could well have a significant climb from the mids though (and happy to be proved wrong if it does indeed go top 10 but I think the bar is quite high atm!)
