but paying Alexa to play the song every 5 minutes kinda helps :)

Amazon is a valid streaming service. Please understand this, it's pretty tiring reading this conspiracy all the time.

The lack of playlist support for the new Sam/Olivia song on Spotify is baffling - Sam’s album has been huge, they’ve heavily supported this era (even the pre-album track drops that were not touted as singles got high NMF support), they have also been supportive of Olivia

Week on week over the last 3 days she’s down 230k. Spin it how you want her numbers are crashing. Dior is rising on all platforms.

Oh I forgot about songs a flop if it isn't doing the same numbers every single day 😂😂😂

Only a handful of songs have had multiple days over 500k this year

And hopefully Dior continues to rise and has a shot at being the next number 1

Are you so upset over all finally going to acr any other success is a flop 🤭

Not to be the Grammar Police, but how do you talk about a song being a FLOP due to its SUCCESS in the same sentence?

Both can be true.

Might not be Number 1 this week... Dior is waiting

Can we just appreciate the entire top 5 have all done over 400k for a couple of days now. Pretty impressive the way this years gone so far

Just want to note that it's a fallacy to treat every single (even by major artists) as if they're written specifically to be instant #1 hits, especially if they just don't sound like it. To avoid the negatively associated buzzwords, sometimes they can just be made to show the range & potential of the album in question, and probably helps the bottom line a lot in the long run.

Often times also these songs that appear to be coasting or underwhelming just don't fit the vibe of the top 40 but then go on to do really well after the fact.

Here's a top 10 from 7 years ago, which song here do you think has the most streams on Spotify nowadays?

Answer: it's the one spending its first and only week in the top 10

There’s no eveidence (yet) to show Dior will jump from 30k up to 55k and Manchild will fall THAT much this week.

Don’t really think that’s a good point since most of its streams came from elsewhere in the world. It did a lot better in other countries

True - I still think it will be close though - especially if Dior keeps on climbing. Its overtaken Manchild on Apple for Instance and is closing the lead on Spotify.

Better than all of those other songs though? It made 4 year end charts that I can see: Australia, Belgium (Wallonia), Canada & USA. In every single one of those lists, at least 3/9 of the other songs placed higher (7 of them in Australia). Everywhere you look it's the same chart run, high debut and then sputters out without really stabilising at any point. It couldn't hold in the top 50 for more than 13 weeks anywhere, even in Canada where it was a #1 hit. The main point is that a lot of the time even when it seems certain that songs don't have legs, it doesn't always pan out that way.
