Dave Stewart and Barbara Gaskin - It's My Party

Godley & Creme - Under Your Thumb

The Human League - Open Your Heart

Laurie Anderson - O Superman

New Order - Procession

Just missing out: 'Just Can't Get Enough' and 'Invisible Sun'

Godley And Creme - Under Your Thumb

The Police - Invisible Sun

Altered Images - Happy Birthday

New Order - Everything's Gone Green

Laurie Anderson - O Superman

I have decided that something like the Birdie Song can't be ranked alongside these other mere songs, it wouldn't be fair on them x

Shoutout to Portsmouth Sinfonia which might just be the worst sounding song I've heard (but fascinatingly so).

Depeche Mode - Just Can't Get Enough

Dave Stewart And Barbara Gaskin - It's My Party

Laurie Anderson - O Superman

Rush - Tom Sawyer

Electric Light Orchestra - Twilight

Godley And Creme - Under Your Thumb

Laurie Anderson - O Superman

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Joan Of Arc

Electric Light Orchestra - Twilight

New Order - Everything's Gone Green

No room for It's My Party or Open Your Heart

I missed the last poll oops!

For what it’s worth:

Duran Duran - Girls On Film

Soft Cell - Tainted Love

Ultravox - The Thin Wall

Genesis - Abacab

OMD - Souvenir

I've edited your votes into the poll results - The Human League lose a joint podium spot, but no big changes.

Godley And Creme - Under Your Thumb

The Human League - Open Your Heart

The Police - Invisible Sun

Electric Light Orchestra - Twilight

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Joan Of Arc

Japan - Quiet Life - great electronic disco style song - its actually from 1979 - influential with inspiring other tracks like Duran's Planet Earth.

Rush - Tom Sawyer - this is an epic

Godley and Creme - Under Your Thumb - a bit of an epic too

Human League - Open Your Heart - again has that epic feel in the verses

Toyah - Thunder In The Mountains - I like its Kate Bush meets Ultravox vibes

The Slade song is a good rock song melodically but the title and lyrics have aged SO badly!

For the sake of completeness, I've now listened through the 15 minute youtube of Tight Fit - Back To The 60s - Part 2 and can confirm it is a different medley of songs to the similar length 'Part 1' which was played in Week 12, and of which the shorter "Part 2" played last Sunday appears to have been taken.

On a separate note, due to absences and with BJSC final results also taking place this Sunday, I suggest we have a break and come back at 16:00 on Sunday 23 November for the final session of 1981!

Top 5:

New Order - Procession

New Order - Everything's Gone Green

The Four Tops - When She Was My Girl

Exploited - Dead Cities

Electric Light Orchestra - Twilight

As much as I like to pick a worst record I can't this time because all the candidates are supposed to be rubbish so I like to give some leniency.

Godley & Creme - Under Your Thumb

The Police - Invisible Sun

Laurie Anderson - O Superman

The Creatures - Mad Eyed Screamer

ELO - Twilight

We have a tie at the top of this week's poll - will the remaining voters be able to split it before tomorrow's session?

Almost forgot to vote in the last poll whoops!

The Creatures - Mad Eyed Screamer

Japan - Quiet Life

Laurie Anderson - O Superman

New Order - Procession

Toyah - Thunder In The Mountains

Almost all discoveries getting my votes here, only Laurie Anderson that I knew already. Next best ones I already knew are Dave Stewart/Barbara Gaskin, Olivia Newton-John and Altered Images, other good discoveries were Haircut 100, Rush, the other New Order song and... I have already forgotten if I said I already knew Godley & Creme or not but that was also good.

(also Birdie Song obviously the best but I have to exclude it to give other songs a chance etc.)

Dave Stewart And Barbara Gaskin - It's My Party

Laurie Anderson - O Superman

New Order - Procession

Godley & Creme - Under Your Thumb

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Joan Of Arc

Worst

Sheena Easton - Just Another Broken Heart

Shakin' Stevens - It's Raining

Tight Fit - Back To The 60s - Part 2*
