Great for Lorde to get straight on to the A-List with 'Shapeshifter'! I gave her new album a quick first listen this morning and it was one of the immediate standouts, so good choice as the next single.

Oh wow, 'CHIHIRO' playlisted it's my favourite song on HIT ME HARD AND SOFT so I'm glad this is the one that's seemingly been added to coincide with her U.K. tour soon. My love for this song / the movie it's based on will extend to wearing a Spirited Away shirt to the concert!

Nice to see PinkPantheress advancing too.

The number of songs on any list has varied a lot lately so who knows?

Wow that's really random to see 'Assumptions' showing up on the playlist now (it's not like Radio 1 often playlist old songs that go viral on TikTok even when they are charting so to see them do so with a song that isn't charting feels very out of nowhere) - it's a great song though! Was a top 5 hit for me in the PopJustice Song Contest back in 2021 x

Yeah all good. Is this a new trend for a US megastar to not have a single out for ages then put one out from the previous year's album to promote summer gigs?

Also Victory Lap is great. Have missed explosive high-energy rap getting in the top ten. And Skepta is even older than me (by four months), has the energy and fire of a 20-year-old!

 

2000 playlist looks massive, it's a long time ago but I was listening, did they just play fewer recurrents then to accommodate the extra stuff? Can't remember!

 

I’d say they just play a lot more of the A List songs, wouldn’t want to be themselves and not a copycat of the global networks now would they!
