I'm not really a Lewis fan, his voice just doesn't really do it for me, Someone you loved is a cracking song though. Still have nothing against his success though, he comes across as being a really nice guy.

This is a pretty weak comeback - "most other people" appears to be two or three other posters. I don't understand comparing artists' sales to anything other than their previous work, and any general

  • That moment when having more realistic expectations makes you the one who is 'miles out of touch'

  • We stan the implication that Lorde is a big enough artist for a 13k Monday midweek figure to be disappointing.

I'm sorry if it came across as insensitive regarding my comment about Lewis Capaldi.

Don’t worry, it didn’t come across that way! Everybody’s allowed their own tastes ☺️

Yeah I want to like Lewis’ music because he’s a nice guy and has clearly overcome a lot. But I just can’t help but find it banal, cliche songwriting.

Happy to see Lorde at #1 in the albums, fingers crossed it stays there!

I'd argue Lewis songwriting is the opposite of cliché and banal

I'd take Lewis Capaldi's music over Cheesy Fad's any time but still far from my favourite. The production is way too plain - he would be great with more experimental sounds.

I'm clearly in the minority of people who preferred Lewis's second album to his first! Quite enjoying the new single too, I'm more than happy with it going to #1.

Lewis should expand the topics he sings about but he’s never go experimental

As much as I like him he is a very paint by number artist

^says the president of the ed sheeran fanclub 😆😆😆😱😱😱🤩🤩🤩

You wanting a tshirt or something 😉😉, I can make you a flashing spinning badge to hun 😉

This country's appetite for beige never ceases to infuriate me. It's like turkeys voting for Christmas.

OK, from somebody who is far from being "president of the Ed Sheeran fan club" - he is totally right!

100% AGREED!!! He ien't anywhere near ad smug oe insufferable or produced to an inch of his life for mass market appeal as Cheesy Fad, but he needs to try and be more experimental.

Really? Because he’s gone on record to state that he spends months on end working on songs to make them as universally appealing to all demos as possible.

That statement combined with an actual critical ear to his music - basic and acoustic repeated four chords without any additional features surrounding them. Completely misinterpreting his cover versions - he always does covers of ballads by women where their power lies in their quiet intensity before a big release comes (if it all) instead he just screams his way through them completely missing what makes them good (“When the Party’s Cover”, “Shallow”, “Everytime”). The oversinging in general. In the the only time he has shown any musical awareness to me is me constantly lower the key of all of songs by at least three octaves, he clearly songs his studio recordings aren’t in his natural range and will cause permit vocal damaged is repeated regularly.

All of that suggests to me that he has a basic understanding (I would argue poor or subpar) have music composition, theory and general critical literacy and analysis.
