Sunday at 16:544 days Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' has had 6 runs in the top 40, although 4/6 of those were just returning for a single week due to Halloween downloads/streams (the other two of course being its original release and his death) so it's not quite fitting the spirit of the thread - if only it had been among his series of 2006 re-releases it could have had runs for 4 distinct reasons. Likewise Ray Parker Jr.'s 'Ghostbusters' has had 4 runs but 3 were for the same reason.Cannot immediately think of any others that aren't just regular seasonal returners!
Sunday at 22:074 days 'Blinding Lights' entered (or re-entered) the Top 40 at least once per year from 2019 to 2022 inclusive, and same with 'Seventeen Going Under' from 2021 to 2024.The Stone Roses - Fools Gold entered the Top 40 in each of 1989, 1990, 1995 and 1999.
Sunday at 22:184 days As alluded to on SyncTube today Joy Division's 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' very nearly qualifies for this - #13 in 1980, #19 in 1983, #19 again in 1995 but falling just short at #46 in 2007.
Sunday at 22:374 days The Jam - In The City also came close, but did make the Top 50 in 4 separate years without going Top 30:1977: #401980: #401983: #472002: #36

Monday at 12:233 days Author Just to let you know…This thread is Top 40 runs, not Top 100, and excludes Christmas songs.
