I have to admit I wasn’t totally set on Take Me Away as the final song but I wanted to showcase an album track at some point and the best time probably would’ve been the third round (when I used When You’re Gone) but I got PTSD from the bloodbath second round. Tbh there was a shortlist of other songs I was toying with using also:

• Keep Holdin’ On

• Knocking’ On Heaven’s Door

• Fall to Pieces

• Together

• My World

• Everything Back But You

• Alice

But I soon realised the crazy strong competition I was up against so decided to play it safer. 😋

Hopefully everyone can give Take Me Away a few plays to give it a chance. One of my favourite Avril tracks! ❤️🙏

PSB has the widest catalog so no surprise they have the best song

Psb have the woest one by far and Christina the beast by a country mile, like it's not even close

Bailamos was literally used in the first round!

Rhythm Divine fkd it up for me and that’s because I miscounted my entries and coulda used Not In Love or Escape in it’s place instead!

Very well done to the three finalists for playing such a good game. The semi-final was better than the final for me but a couple of songs I like a lot here nevertheless.

At least Florence is still there to be used next time!

I already suffered through enough of her catalogue during AF Idol!

Also, meant to add to earlier post, Girlfriend was also definitely a possibility but I feared it was maybe too divisive for this contest (despite being arguably her biggest hit lol).

Keep Holdin’ On was also SO close to making the cut in the final but I didn’t want 2 ballads to represent Avril. 😅 I guess time will tell whether or not I live to regret this decision. 😋

Michael I swear you’ve had a lot to say about every round but haven’t actually paid attention to anything that’s happened in any of them xx

P.s. I feel like Avril inadvertently made something special... I actually wouldn't be against the idea that their biggest deep cut is their "winner's single"!

I guess I must be one of the few fans left of Back 2 Basics era, because I find ANOM to be way ahead of it’s time, and I am just happy that I managed to be able to sent it…even though I should have done it way earlier (silly me for thinking there will be 10 rounds of live shows :lol:)

And I say this with every ounce of my love for both of other acts, PSB and Avril, you two played this game so well, much better than myself, and I am really rooting for both of you

I'm actually not super familiar with Take Me Away. I was hoping for Keep Holding On, I can't lie, but Avril has such a great back catalogue and as said previously, Scene has played this superbly that I still feel like I want Avril to take it.
