Great tracklist and never mind about Abba. No idea why Marvin Gaye is there as it was never a UK hit. Maybe re-issued in .76.

ABBA won’t be on extra unfortunately but Don’t Take Away The Music by Tavares could be on extra even though it technically outsold Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel even though they both peaked at number 4

Heaven...is played far more often on UK radio so guess that's why it made the main album.

A notable absence is a song that has never appeared on CD, a No.2 hit, You Just Might See Me Cry by Our Kid. Dare we hope for it on 1976 Extra?

  • I’ve been getting through it in my car. I agree about the end of disc 2-quite dire! It boggles the minds some of the tracks that still didn’t appear on this Extra! The 98 one was so much more superio

Just FYI - threads don't need to be locked at 50 pages nowadays!

  • I would love to see KC & The Sunshine Band on there with ‘Shake Shake Shake (Shake Your Booty)’. A Top 40 hit sure but would be perfect for the Extra as it’s a very memorable song.

Looks like this is the next spin-off and it’s being released on 5th September. I wish they’d stop taking the piss with that eras album and announce that instead of this. I hope this fails to top the compilation chart like Now 121 most likely will

This feels like another filler compilation. I’ll give this one a miss, and await the next one.

Moslty brilliant songs, of course, but what kind of 60s soul fan won't already own these five times over? Pass.

Now 121 has become the third numbered Now to miss the number 1 spot in the albums or compilation chart with Now 4 and Now 115 being the first two. It was a good job that Now 119 was released a week earlier than usual otherwise that would’ve missed out too. I just hope that Now 122 gets released on 14th November to avoid clashing with Wicked 2 and becoming the fourth numbered Now to miss out on number 1. Now 4 which charted in the albums chart was kept off the top by another compilation rather than an artist album

I wonder if we’ll get another “Massive Party” album this year, if so I hope it’s a 90s one. Macarena, Saturday Night, and 5,6,7,8 all back to back? Yes please.

I wouldn’t mind a 90s one or a 00s one for that matter

Do we think there will be any news this month of a forthcoming "Final Chapter" release for 1985-89 once the 1976 extra has been revealed?

I reckon they’ll be releasing that in December like they did with 1980-1984 with a 90s yearbook being released at the end of October after extra 1976

I downloaded 121 this morning from Amazon as it was a little cheaper plus was using it as a test album to see how it easy it is to put a downloaded album onto a phone these days (it isn't, back to an iPod perhaps!). Anyway, the first disc I loved, no skips; hadn't heard Relationships by HAIM before today and it was a stand out! Disc 2 kinda drones on towards the end but still solid nontheless.

I think the next announcement could be NOW 12" 80s 1985 Part Two either that or another Vault release

Too soon for 12" 1985 part 2. We usually get those every 3 months. I reckon we’ll get that on 17th October, a week after extra 1976. Were due a new eras album as there’s 16 weeks in between first eras and second eras and vault 1982 will most likely be announced at the end of the month

I know it’s a bit off-topic but have you heard of iBroadcast? You use their app to upload your MP3s and then you can stream them on the go on your phone.

Back on topic: I feel like they’re going to struggle with Yearbook 1991, due to an array of licensing issues stemming from big hits from Bryan Adams and The Simpsons all the way down to rave songs and their sampling issues.

It might be a Yearbook 1993 all over again. I have felt that the 90’s Yearbooks have been weaker than the 80’s ones, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
