There were some proper bust ups in the early years too about rules and protocol that probably seemed inane just a month later but will seem so even more now. Idk how easy it would be to find the threads.

I've noticed Spotify embeds playing up today and seems they are indeed now completely broken - glad to see it isn't just a problem with my connection, I'm sure it'll be fixed soon x

Honestly it took a good few years before it became the contest we know today, but at the very least the first like 2 years are just wild in comparison to what’s normal now.

There was a couple of years back then when all you’d have to do was breathe and it’d kick off some 15 page argument about the most pointless of thing

Still remember the almighty riot over allowing songs to complete that had been in an ESC national final that lead to not one but two of the then three mods resigning

that wasn’t terrible in isolation but that came after YEARS of it so at the time it was horrendous.

But in terms of lasting impact, 09 was the most significant of the big contest arguments

Yeah, I quit once for 5 minutes, then came back, then I DNQ’ed and didn’t handle it well :lol: and said I will never comeback, but that lasted only 2 minutes as well!!!
