I really wish this had more oomph. I haven’t played it again since my second listen… Back to Midnight Sun I go…

Billboard is reporting that she sold 2.7 pure copies in the US on the first day alone.

There is a countdown for midnight on her store (7pm us time, so fitting the “standby” she’s included on her schedule for the release week she posted) looks like this’ll be the albums merch drop!

Adele record is 3.3m for the week wonder if she can do it 😮 apparently the 2.7m is physicals alone

why have I just seen Michael Barrymore (of all people) throwing shade on TikTok lol x

If that isnt the biggest form of people in glass houses and all that 😮 tbf its pretty cringe the way he actually uses tik tok to stay relevant, he's up there with the worst of begtok him and Heather from eastenders

Oh going on. A random rant here 🙈

Anyway, been listening to the album some more and think I'd probably rank it something like this:

  1. The Fate of Ophelia

  2. CANCELLED!

  3. Opalite

  4. Wi$h Li$t

  5. Ruin the Friendship

  6. Father Figure

  7. Honey

  8. The Life of a Showgirl (feat. Sabrina Carpenter)

  9. Elizabeth Taylor

  10. Eldest Daughter

  11. Actually Romantic

  12. Wood

Was worried seeing some of the online comments about the album before I listened, but I didn't have anything to worry about as I really liked it! 12 tracks makes such a difference, it feels tighter, more concise and with less filler than many of her albums (no matter how much I love most of them). I'm not one to focus on lyrics so I haven't really paid attention to whether they're better or worse by her standards, but melodically it's strong, she sounds great, and I like the production too. Not the big pop album I was expecting when I saw Max Martin's name, but it's still a strong pop album in my books.

Early highlights are Elizabeth Taylor, Actually Romantic (petty as hell but it's a bop), Wi$h Li$t, the title track and Honey, as well as The Fate of Ophelia which is a great single choice, such an earworm.

My faves so far are The Fate of Ophelia and CANCELLED and Elizabeth Taylor

Who could’ve guessed! The countdown was for 4 new CDs! Each one has some acoustic versions of songs on the album! Just like clockwork!

Now if it was an Ophelia cd single I would’ve snatched it right up but my wallet is safe lol

I wonder what the record for most versions of the same album is

I do want to get the album at some point but opening week with the variants in their thousands being released just puts me off and makes me not want to. kink

This is not a grammy contender. Be nominated in everything but win as an album? Highly doubt it.

It is hard to say as it won't get nomated for 2026 grammy's as it mised the cut off, so we don't know what other artists will realise between now and late August 2026.

Right, my two pennyworths on this Actually Romantic drama. Firstly it's a rip off of a mellow Olivia Rodrigo melody. I do really like Taylor Swift, but not sure she comes across well out of this at all no matter how much she tries and dresses it up publicly. Charli was a iddling artist going absolutely nowhere globally before BRAT, it's a bit like Olivia Dean slagging off Adele. All feels very personal and that is completely got under Taylor's skin, cos God forbid somebody else can write a song slagging her off like she's made a career out of.

As for the album, it is fine. It's very middle of the road pop, not quite sure it reaches a high, but certainly has a few good tracks.

Your entitled to your opinion but to say Brat was essentially her break out album is a very big stretch 🤣

a rip-off of Olivia Rodrigo tearsmile everything Rodrigo has done to date has been bottom shelf inspired-by-Taylor let's be real, we definitely haven't hit a crossroads.
