Posted September 2Sep 2 idk if we have a general thread for the Green Party but genuinely excited about Zack’s direction and hoping he will greatly reduce Reform margins x (since Your Party seems to be flopping with a transphobic MP ooooo)Earlier he won today by ijbol margins against “moderates”
September 2Sep 2 I recognise him! He went to my uni and also lived in Manchester! Trying to figure out if I actually knew him!would always welcome Greens getting more votes but I’d rather split votes not be at the expense of a reform win
September 2Sep 2 I don't know how they will compete against the new Corbyn party.Edit: Just read the opening post about the recent problem in 'Your Party'. Edited September 2Sep 2 by TheSnake
September 2Sep 2 Both Sultana and Corbyn have congratulated him and given the indication that they will work together so I hope that means electoral pact - they should be going after the same voters and it's one of the most obvious potential team-ups in British politics. In any case, very pleased that Polanski has won, the Greens absolutely need a leader like him who is willing to get out there, be brash and challenging, not this anemic co-leader anonymity they'd fallen into. Still suspect of Green Party viability as a solid electoral force but this is a good start so I won't knock it yet.
September 2Sep 2 I remember him from the time he was in the Lib Dems. He spoke at a pre-conference rally and was a very impressive speaker. If he succeeds, the next election could be an even bigger mess with many constituencies being won on under 30% of the vote.
September 2Sep 2 Author would be great to see "your party" and green party teaming up and targetting places where reform can win. maybe also teaming up with lib dems to keep their places plus pick a couple more from tories? that's assuming lib dems don't go socially conservative like the labour party sslfjkdghslfjkdg
October 1Oct 1 I'm really liking what I've seen and heard from Zack's direction so far and I hope he can get himself out there enough to become somewhat of a "personality" to be big enough to counteract Reform and take on the bigger parties of Labour & Cuntservatives.I am ALL IN on Green Party this time around. I like the idea of Your Party but it's obviously such a mess atm and we can't afford that in a party right now! We need to not separate the votes whatsoever and focus on pushing the one. So definitely Team Green for me for the 2nd time ever (I voted for them last election too).
Saturday at 15:123 days Whilst I don't agree on all of the Green party policies (esp since a load of ex-Tories have joined them because of bleurgh NIMBY policies, e.g. don't build pylons or new houses) I've got to say that over the last few weeks I've been really impressed by Zack Polanski. He speaks in a really engaging way and clearly has a lot of really interesting, and I would argue popular with the public, ideas about how to better shape the economic future for this country.Since Starmer and Reeves are determined to be the handmaidens of Farage/Reform UK by implementing really unpopular policies and failing to seriously address the economic inequalities in society I may be persuaded to switch my allegiances.
Yesterday at 17:571 day I keep seeing Zack's name everywhere and it's a major change that being about a politician I like. He's really got the sauce.Even if a lot of it's attacking him or the Greens, it's finally a chance for the politics of good, sensible progressive things to be done in the public conversation (like ending landlordism!). Such a change from the relentless Reform-inspired negativity.
Yesterday at 21:071 day They also will find it hard coming at him on the Palestinian issue given he’s from a Jewish background, the right won’t know where to go with that. They’ll find something else though no doubt…..
