J is for Jump.

Battle of the Artist Forums now! Two top 10 hits titled Jump were released in the early/mid 00s, and both by a defining pop act of the decade. First up, it was Girls Aloud who released their Pointer Sisters cover in the autumn of 2003, a single that acted as both a soundtrack to that year's blockbuster Love Actually, and as a Hail Mary of sorts by their record label after disappointing album sales. The song proved a hit and gave the girls a fourth straight top 3 hit and a green light for album 2! (I still find it mad they were on the cusp of being dropped at that point wtf) Fast forward three years and it's Madonna's turn to release a Jump - her song serving as the fourth and final single from her acclaimed Confessions... album. The song gave Madonna yet another top 10 hit on its release in November 2006.

But which is your favourite Jump?

Soundclash: Noughties Namesakes history:

E is for Emergency (Paramore vs Jordin Sparks)

F is for Free Me (Emma Bunton vs Joss Stone)

G is for Gravity (Sara Bareilles vs Pixie Lott)

H is for Hey Baby (DJ Otzi vs No Doubt)

I is for I Turn To You (Christina Aguilera vs Melanie C)

Girls Aloud for me. It’s probably one of my most played of theirs in recent years. BOP.

Madonna, sublime single from a classic album.

The GA cover is not one I listen to a lot but is quite fun.
