scenes when Alexa gets Kylie a Christmas #1 and Buzzjack doesn't know whether to get excited cos it's Kylie or annoyed cos it's Alexa and the song wouldn't be top 10 on a level playing field

  • How did she feel about that?

  • Gaga is coming... And when this one finally goes viral on TikTok... Mariah, pack your bags!

My second fav 😀

How many people have completed the medal positions of the Christmas chart either with the same song or different songs ?

I assume ‘Last Christmas’ is the only song to have done it by itself.

Ed Sheeran must have had several Christmas number 1s, 2s and 3s - does anyone know his full list?

Have any of the Beatles done it - and if so, have any of them done it without the Beatles tracks?

Kylie is on track to achieve this rare feat.

I’d say the bigger artists like Ed and the Beatles prob have no1/2s but less likely to have a no3 hit!

Kylie as low as 1/20. Holy shit, it looks like she's definitely gonna do it.

Fingers crossed, It would make up for my poor showing on all the reality tv shows this year

Ed has had a number 3. He’s in the Christmas number 3 rate, as is John Lennon and Paul McCartney

He was actually 1 and the 2 year of merry Christmas, with sausage rolls for everyone at 1

Afterglow was a Christmas number 2

Perfect number 1

Not sure if he had more of the top of my head

Was The River number 2 on the Christmas Chart behind Perfect? Or did it debut a week later?

It was (and 'Afterglow' didn't get to #2 until 2 weeks after Christmas)

1/100 now!

Absolutely kicking myself for not putting the tenner on at 7/1 the other day!

Reminder to all that the outcome of the race cannot be posted ANYWHERE on the forum before it is revealed on BBC Radio 1 - spoiling or even hinting at the result will land you a temporary ban!

I think regardless of the results of this week Kylie and Amazon have potentially breathed fresh life into the classic Christmas #1 battle.

Whilst it's still to early to tell, but if the streaming platforms make a few changes then we could get closer to the days of years gone by.

Imagine Apple and Spotify putting in the same amount of effort as Amazon do with there 'Amazon Exclusives'. I know Kylie has a fanatical fanbase who lap up anything and everything but imagine a 2026 Christmas Chart battle if the main 3 streaming platforms were all doing it. As an example Amazon could have Harry Styles or Lewis Capaldi, Spotify could have Lady Gaga or Dua Lipa and Apple could have Jade or Steps. Each act has a fanbase that would support them with physical purchases and with a proper UK centred playlist from Spotify (Apple already do this I believe) the days of Wham and Mariah dominating could be a thing of the past. Even more American artists could be used. Taylor, Sabrina, P!nk, Rihanna.

I know it's probably unlikely to happen but the foundations have really been set this year. I really hope it's not for nothing.
