Results time! Sorry if there's a SyncTube session going on but hopefully those folks can catch up afterward.

Thanks everyone who participated! So far I'm happy with how this went for a brand new quiz happy

For scoring, I have given 10 points for a correct answer in the correct spot. A streak of correct answers that aren't in the correct spot is getting half-marks based on the length of the streak (10 points for a streak of 2, 15 points for 3, 20 points for 4, and so on).

I'll post the correct answer for each question, followed by the score each poster accumulated for that question. I was going to type everyone's individual answer but that was way too much typing! Then I'll do a leaderboard at the end.

I think that's all that needs explained, we'll get started shortly!

1. Put these #2 singles in order of when they were released, from EARLIEST to LATEST.

Bomfunk MC's – Freestyler (2000)

Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag (2001)

P!nk - Get The Party Started (2002)

Busted - Year 3000 (2003)

Kelis – Milkshake (2004)

Gorillaz feat. De La Soul - Feel Good Inc. (2005)

Corinne Bailey Rae - Put Your Records On (2006)

Gwen Stefani feat. Akon - The Sweet Escape (2007)

Leona Lewis - Better In Time (2008)

La Roux - In For The Kill (2009)

So how many of you realized there was one song for each year of the noughties? This was meant to be an easy-ish one to start with, and sure enough 9 of you got everything in the correct order.

Yay wub

I'd say years are a strong point of my chart knowledge, especially during the 2000s as most of my childhood occurred during that decade, so was hoping to do well on that one. Now for things to go downhill probably lol

2. Put these 2024 chart-topping singles in order of when they first reached #1, from EARLIEST to LATEST.

Noah Kahan - Stick Season

Beyonce - Texas Hold Em

(Benson Boone – Beautiful Things)

(Hozier – Too Sweet)

Taylor Swift feat. Post Malone - Fortnight

Sabrina Carpenter – Espresso

(Eminem – Houdini)

Sabrina Carpenter - Please Please Please

Charli XCX feat. Billie Eilish - Guess

Chase & Status and Stormzy - Backbone

Sabrina Carpenter - Taste

Gigi Perez - Sailor Song

Gracie Abrams - That's So True

(Wham! – Last Christmas)

Obviously there were more than ten #1 singles last year, so some of them were left out. Most people remembered that ‘Stick Season’ was the first new #1 of the year, but not quite everyone did. Most people got Sabrina Carpenter’s three #1s in the correct order, but again, not everybody. Personally I get tripped up remembering that ‘Guess’ was #1 the week before ‘Backbone’!

3. Put these chart-topping albums in order of when they reached #1 IN 2024, from EARLIEST to LATEST.

Michael Buble – Christmas (4 January)

The Last Dinner Party - Prelude To Ecstasy (15 February)

Ariana Grande - Eternal Sunshine (21 March)

Beyonce - Cowboy Carter (11 April)

Taylor Swift - The Tortured Poets Department (2 May)

Dua Lipa - Radical Optimism (16 May)

Billie Eilish - Hit Me Hard And Soft (30 May)

Gracie Abrams - The Secret Of Us (4 July)

Coldplay - Moon Music (17 October)

Charli xcx – Brat (24 October)

Trick question alert! Michael Buble’s album was #1 in the first chart week of the year, and otherwise did not reach #1 last Christmas season, so it’s actually at the top of the list. I’d say the majority did stick it at the bottom, but congrats to those who either remembered or made a lucky guess.

Brat was actually the latest #1 on this list, it was released in the summer but didn’t reach #1 until October. On the other hand, The Secret Of Us was also a summer release, but a lot of people put it at the end of the list, probably because ‘That’s So True’ was at the bottom on the previous question. So this one had a few tricks to navigate around! As a result, nobody got maximum points here, with 60 being the highest.

4. Rank these songs, WITH #1 AT THE TOP, in the order of where they charted in the Apple Music UK chart on November 1, 2024, the day after Halloween last year.

1. Michael Jackson - Thriller

4. Ray Parker Jr. - Ghostbusters

9. The Citizens of Halloween - This Is Halloween

17. Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me

21. Bobby "Boris" Pickett & The Crypt-Kickers - Monster Mash

54. Duran Duran - Hungry Like the Wolf

58. AC/DC - Highway to Hell

97. Rihanna - Disturbia

143. Warren Zevon - Werewolves of London

192. Little Mix - Black Magic

I knew this would be challenging too, but couldn't pass up a Halloween question! I would've used the Spotify chart but couldn't find it in the Streaming Discussion thread from that week! Alas, I think everybody got 'Thriller' correct at the very least, so nobody went without points. But otherwise, some of these songs are certainly ranked higher or lower than I would've expected!

5. Rank these songs, WITH #1 AT THE TOP, in the order of where they appeared on the previous week's UK Singles Chart (week ending 16/10/2025).

Taylor Swift - The Fate Of Ophelia (#1)

Taylor Swift - Elizabeth Taylor (#3)

RAYE - Where Is My Husband! (#6)

Tate McRae - Tit For Tat (#11)

Lady Gaga - The Dead Dance (#22)

Rihanna - Breakin' Dishes (#26)

Tame Impala – Dracula (#40)

The Killers - Mr. Brightside (#61)

Fleetwood Mac – Everywhere (#80)

Vance Joy – Riptide (#95)

I hope the chart date didn’t throw off too many people – this was the week that Taylor debuted and had the top three songs. Some people might have had the current chart in mind because they had ‘Where Is My Husband!’ ranked higher than ‘Elizabeth Taylor’. Otherwise I didn’t notice any significant patterns on the answers here.

6. Rank these songs, WITH #1 AT THE TOP, in the order of where they appeared on the previous week's UK Album Chart (week ending 16/10/2025).

Taylor Swift - The Life Of A Showgirl (#1)

Oasis - What's The Story Morning Glory (#2)

Olivia Dean - The Art Of Loving (#3)

Sabrina Carpenter - Man's Best Friend (#4)

The Weeknd - The Highlights (#7)

Elton John – Diamonds (#22)

Maroon 5 – Singles (#45)

Cocomelon - Nursey Rhymes By Cocomelon (#78)

Jade - That's Showbiz Baby (#83)

Daniel O'Donnell - Now And Then (#92)

Again, this was Taylor’s debut week which may have tripped people up. Not many had Oasis as #2, quite a few had Olivia Dean and others ahead of them. I believe The Weeknd is typically ahead of Elton John and both are typically ahead of Maroon 5. #92 was actually the debut position for Daniel O’Donnell’s album, that’s unusual for him!

Ooh Q3 was a sneaky one! Not least because Michael Bublé did return to #1 on the chart announced 27 December last year, but with a week ending 2 January 2025, so that's a bit of a technicality - nevertheless kudos to anyone who got that bit right.

I don't have Apple so made some guesses at Q4, could have been worse I suppose.

Q5 I may have got confused between 'Dreams' and 'Everywhere', should have know the latter was below 'Mr Brightside' but was fairly sure on everything else there.

Q6 I think I just got the bottom two the wrong way around. Well done gasman!

Ooh that's a cheeky number 3. For number 6 I thought Cocomelon was way higher! Don't follow the Apple charts so 4 was mostly guesswork.

7. Rank these artists in the order of how many #1 singles they have, from MOST to LEAST. For groups, DO NOT INCLUDE the solo #1s of their individual members.

Elvis Presley (21)

The Beatles (18)

Cliff Richard (14)

Take That (12)

Spice Girls (9)

Jess Glynne (7)

Ladbaby (5)

Olivia Rodrigo (3)

Charli XCX (2)

Hozier (1)

I gathered all these statistics from Wikipedia, so just crossing my fingers that none of it’s wrong lol People did pretty well although the answers for Cliff Richard were kind of all over the place. Hopefully you remembered Ladbaby had 5 #1s and could work out the order of Olivia, Charli and Hozier.

8. Rank these artists in the order of how many Top 10 singles they have, from MOST to LEAST. For groups, DO NOT INCLUDE the solo hits of their individual members.

Madonna (64)

Drake (46)

Eminem (34)

Girls Aloud (21)

Adele (11)

Sabrina Carpenter (9)

Chappell Roan (5)

Teddy Swims (3)

Noah Kahan (2)

Benson Boone (1)

This one was problematic for me, I originally had Eminem ahead of Drake and had to re-do all the scores right before I started this thread. I was surprised how many didn’t have Benson Boone ranked at the bottom, believe it or not he only has one top 10 single, but a handful of top 20s!

9. Rank these chart-topping singles in the order of how many weeks they spent at #1, from MOST to LEAST.

Frankie Laine - I Believe (18)

Bryan Adams - (Everything I Do) I Do It For You (16)

Wet Wet Wet - Love Is All Around (15)

Alex Warren – Ordinary (13)

Gnarls Barkley – Crazy (9)

HUNTR/X – Golden (8)

Sabrina Carpenter - Please Please Please (5)

Lola Young – Messy (4)

Chappell Roan - Pink Pony Club (2)

RAYE feat. 070 Shake – Escapism (1)

Quite a few people ranked Bryan Adams at the top instead of Frankie Laine! The middle part of the list was toughest for me, I know which songs had 10+ weeks and which ones had 1 or 2 weeks, but take ‘Golden’ for example, it just left #1 and I’d already forgotten how many weeks it was there.
