I’m fuming I couldn’t find anywhere taking bets when it was announced 😭 was going to put £20 on it. Then her odds shortened and I thought ah well I’ll just leave it it probably won’t happen anyway… silly me.

Strong playlisting combined with the high volume of music fans heading to Amazon Music to request XMAS, has significantly contributed to the song’s chart success to date. 

“On the activation side, we collaborated closely with Kylie and her team on an exclusive fan event in London (December 12). The event gave a handful of lucky fans the chance to view the music video before anyone else, as well as an exclusive Q&A with Kylie, creating an elevated and memorable experience for her fans.”

“Given the popularity of Christmas music with Amazon Music customers, the label was keen to work with us on this very special campaign. The moment we first heard Kylie’s XMAS we were totally blown away and couldn’t get it out of our heads. Exactly - they started out slowly and are gradually moving it up and up, fully expecting them to go full blown Alexa spam tomorrow.

They will want a Christmas #1 as much as Kylie and the fans do.

With the money you spend on Kylie releases you so deserve a big win so i have my fingers crossed for you.

I also agree that Amazon will want XMAS going number 1 seeing so many of their releases havnt managed it and they really seem to be doing their job this week so lets hope the plan works.

If Kylie gets the number 1 im totally open to them having Kylie as the exclusive again next year!!

The race aside, one thing that really has struck me about the song and the video is it's full of fun and pure joy for the time of year. There is no sadness, no tears over lost love just a feel good few minutes. Kylie and her team have really nailed it with tihs and I think it will end the week at number 1, it's growing everywhere and people seem to be appreciating the enthusiasm the song brings.

I bet £10 on 5/1, so I'd get £60 in return! Nothing major but hey, would still be nice. Bet365 took so long to start the Christmas betting, and that's the site I use.

XMAS is proving to be so devisive as a song... each to their own of course. I find it to be such a fun, uplifting and festive song! I'm happy to be playing it, I don't feel like this is a forced campaign to get behind something bad. I genuinely think it's worthy of being a hit, regardless of Amazon's shenanigans playing its part in making it happen. Also, I think it stands out as something quite different in a very overcrowded Christmas market. To me it doesn't feel like Kylie's take on someone else's Christmas classic, this feels like it's something original, her own twist on Christmas. Which I think is quite hard to pull off!

I agree I think it’s fun! Something completely different from previous Amazon Exclusives / Christmas songs in general.

I totally get why the general public will be divided they hate songs that have chants in a chorus and then you have those that are moaning about it being XMAS and not Christmas.

Fingers crossed she still has a good lead because she could easily start slipping tomorrow

I agree totally, it's not a sad song, it's full of fun. some would call it trivial, but the swaps she does during the song is great and the build up to bursting out the door is well done.

Now if she could of only got Agnetha on that instead of Bjorn and it would of been perfect <3

i have no problem with Amazon. Its quite obviously getting a lot of streams from being on their playlists too, just like other artists on other platforms. Record labels manipulate those Spotify, Apple, Youtube, Deezer platforms and playlists thats all Amazon are doing too.

Lets see what happens for the rest of the week. Wham still favourites at the moment but can Kylie stay ahead?
