I really feel like this won’t be Christmas #1. More like #11 > out. But i’m happy to be proving wrong.

I can’t see how that could happen after how the last few Amazon Music releases have done unsure Did you see these chart runs? https://www.buzzjack.com/forums/topic/283655-xmas-single-and-christmas-fully-wrapped-chart-predictions/page/2/#findComment-7835502

If it happens, I might go and quote a post where any of us have said "shame Slow was her last ever #1" and be like...

If it comes anywhere close to Tension II's first week sales I'll eat my hat with Xmas dinner.

Hope you post the proof in the pudding too 🤣

I hear you guys! I just know that being a massive Kylie fan something will happen to stop it performing as well as previous Amazon releases 😅

Be interesting to see what could. It's mainly about Amazon promoting it via their playlist or Alexa so it wouldn't just spend one week in the chart or say, do worse than Tom Grennan I'd imagine.

IDK, I think the single will go top 10 but to be honest cant see the Album doing that much. I could be wrong as I have noticed "Santa Baby" is currently her 6th most streamed daily song on Spotify, so that reads well. so yeah, IDK. I would love to see a double and it would be fitting add to her Career, You sort of have to face the fact she is 57 and I'm not sure she wants to continue indefinitely. I guess if her next Album isn't called "Exit, stage left" or "This is it" then you never know. Good luck to her anyhow and I hope it is a successful Xmas campaign for her

Unless the album is a gigantic flop and her core fanbase has evaporated then I can’t see Kylie Christmas being anything other than a Top 3 album at worst.

The weekly sales on corresponding release weeks for the last 2 years

2024

01 23,047 Taylor Swift - THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT

02 13,619 Sabrina Carpenter - Short n' Sweet

03 13,473 Kendrick Lamar - GNX

04 10,001 Michael Bublé - Christmas

05 9,422 Juice WRLD - The Party Never Ends

2023

01 15,645 Peter Gabriel - I/O

02 14,972 ATEEZ - THE WORLD EP.FIN : WILL

03 14,402 Michael Bublé - Christmas

04 12,175 Taylor Swift - 1989 (Taylor's Version)

05 8,760 The Rolling Stones - Hackney Diamonds

06 8,082 Take That - This Life

I don't want to put that much expectation on the Album, although those figues sort of match what I chose in the poll, less then 20k. I'm thinking 5-10k to be fair. Those are pretty sad numbers for both years actually.

Top 5, Top 10, 5-10k, less than 100k

But hope both do better than i predicted

The single will be going top 3 (I'd say 99.9% sure it'll be 2) Amazon will be spamming it alongside the physicals so I'd say it's a case of either 1 or 2 in singles.

The album has stacks of variants, The Vinyl is still number 1 in bestsellers, signed bundles sold out and she'll be doing promo I think she'll be closer to 20k than 10/15k to be honest. I can actually see her doing more than 20k purely because of the cost and all the variants (Red Transparent Vinyl is £18 on Amazon)

I initially had the same throughs as you will see in an earlier post but that's just the cautious side of me as we have seen a few Kylie single releases totally messed up but as others have said Amazon push hard for their Christmas singles to be successful.

With this it will probably debut low like some previous releases and then rocket up.

Yes and how unfortunate that she was up against a new Band Aid version.

Such a classic song

I keep feeling like I’m going to jinx it when I post things like this(!) but judging by how the last two Amazon Christmas songs did, XMAS could end up giving Kylie her highest weekly sales for a single since Can’t Get You Out of My Head? Also if XMAS managed a 90k+ sales week like Tom Grennan did, I believe other than CGYOOMH the only other Kylie singles to exceed that many sales in a week are I Should Be So Lucky, Especially for You and Hand on Your Heart?

Amazon picked a good one as I know they’ve faced criticism before but you can’t deny kylies fanbase support and push power (they managed to push padam to stay top 40 the week it went to ACR) so it’s an easy one to take advantage of and push to the top spot imo

This to be honest - once the results start coming in and Kylie starts climbing the fanbase will rally around with downloads, physicals etc.,

I do agree, the only thing this time as someone mentioned there wont be a variation of remixes for the fans to support.

I think we are all afraid of jinxing it!!

Thats not something that clicked with me re her sales if it happens, it would be great to see her achieve something like this nearly 40 years into her career.

Until i see this rising on Amazon etc i can't get excited. OCC will probably ban Alexa this year lol

The main UK song that Amazon pushes each year have performed well - Ellie #1, Sam Ryder #2, Tom Grennan #3, Jess Glynne #3 etc.,

Interestingly, none of them have managed to reach the Top 75 with a new solo single since releasing their Amazon exclusive. 🤐

Plays into my theory that artists get shunned by streaming companies when they team up with one!
