Friday at 09:445 days Author Lily Allen A-list Presumably the TBC is Charli XCX but I'll wait for confirmation before updating it.
Friday at 11:304 days Yeah, I am quite surprised that Lewis keeps getting A-List insta-adds at this point. Nice to see Lily move up to the A list and adds for (I assume) Charli, Fred Again and I absolutely love that Hayley Williams track!I usually know all the tracks that are playlisted either from the chart or evening shows but I’ve never heard of Yeat before - any idea where this has come from? Doesn’t look to be in the Top 100 Chart Update

Doesn’t look to be in the Top 100 Chart UpdateIt was at number 91 in last week's chart - Yeat is a US rapper who has built up a cult following over the past 5 years, he featured on Drake's IDGAF which reached number 5 in 2023. I'm a fan, glad he's made it onto the Radio 1 playlist!

Friday at 15:294 days HAVEN. has been taken off of streaming services today… Edited Friday at 18:294 days by James.
Friday at 20:124 days I still do not understand the choice of Madeline. Not only does it have less of a chorus than most of the album but also half of it is spoken. Just playlist an edited version of Pussy Palace or a selection of songs from the album like they often do with popular new releases.
Friday at 20:174 days Well it's still one of the most popular songs on the album so it's clearly not that weird of a choice. (I don't see how it having spoken word elements should make it not single worthy?)
Friday at 20:214 days Madeline is also the single as sent out by the label, Radio 1 always go by that

Think at this point we can safely say anything that gets a load of daytime radio play is a single. Now that there's nothing to buy in the shops, that's literally the definition of a single! 7 hours ago, James. said:HAVEN. has been taken off of streaming services today…Mad stuff! I gave it a spin earlier and thought it was quite decent but the AI rumours did put me off a little. Camelphat put a tune out a couple of months ago that they said was AI-assisted and it totally put me off it so I never played it again. Not that we know that's definitely the reason for the instant HAVEN. death. 2 hours ago, Brer said:Well it's still one of the most popular songs on the album so it's clearly not that weird of a choice. (I don't see how it having spoken word elements should make it not single worthy?)It's an ideal choice for a single and sounds brilliant on the radio. Perfect for this time of year too.LOVE AND LIGHT! I wonder if Radio 1 will quickly bin HAVEN. off next week. It's still showing for me on Spotify. Maybe I'll give it one last spin. Could be the 2025 Precision Tunes version of Payphone. Edited Friday at 22:394 days by HiyaLuv!

Friday at 23:384 days ^ it wasn't the overall country chart, it was the country digital sales chart i.e. basically meaningless
Friday at 23:404 days 1 minute ago, Brer said:^ it wasn't the overall country chart, it was the country digital sales chart i.e. basically meaninglessThey have so many ridiculous charts!Unfortunately so do we. Our rock chart for instance could be quite interesting if everything over a few months old was banished! But instead it's just full of songs from 87623 years ago. I wonder how many singles Lewis has to go before he's Radio 2-only. Feels like he's dining out on 2019 at this stage, which is quite a long time ago now. What was the last REAL hit people actually streamed in their millions for several years that didn't get an artificially high chart peak from cheap CD singles or first-week curiosity streams? Forget Me?At least he ventured slightly out of his comfort zone on that one. Answering my own question here and it seems Survive did okay but nowhere near as well as Somebody You Loved, which had TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY EIGHT WEEKS on the Top 100. https://www.officialcharts.com/artist/51369/lewis-capaldi/Also, if anyone from the BBC Radio 1 Playlist is lurking here, stop sleeping on crystallized featuring Inéz off of John Summit, who they liked a lot a few years back. Pretty euphoric, yet not even on the R1 Dance Playlist for some reason!
