January 21Jan 21 Looking forward to a new album from Dermot Funeral is sounding great on first listen too!
January 21Jan 21 I’ve always loved Dermots voice! I don’t normally listen to males in his genre but there’s always been something about his vocal / the way in which he delivers tracks especially on ballads that I’ve always loved! So I’m here for another album from him!

January 22Jan 22 Author He released an ep called “I told the trees everything” and that was very much back fo his roots sounding, and he said he felt that sound was authentic and he would take a break and come back with music that sounded like that so I am hopeful. Sonder was a decent record but disappointing from him after how good his earlier output was! Funeral is a proper return to form, such a brilliant track
January 22Jan 22 I hope he can still manage to do fairly well in the UK with this album as his last album didnt do as well as his previous.Its a given it will do really well here in Ireland so hopefully it goes well for him in the UK.

I definitely think this lead single is slightly more alt sounding than his singles of 3-4 years ago, like something Keane would release, so it’s a step in the right direction for me.
January 22Jan 22 Author Looks like another #1 album is out of the question as RAYE is releasing that day! I think he should still quite easily manage top 5 though! If only they’d pull release forward or back by a week so he can keep up his streak! Gonna be so fed 27th March though, two of my all time favourite artists releasing on the same day!

January 26Jan 26 Author Funeral is at #52 in the mids! I am not so sure this will be a top 40 climber like his other hits, hopefully it’ll hold in the top 100! nice to see him still managing to get top 100 placements, I was worried after he took a break he wouldn’t maintain that, it’s a positive start for the era!

February 4Feb 4 Enjoying Funeral a lot! The lyrics are certainly a lot more positive than the title and the style of the song would suggest.
February 10Feb 10 Author He’s emailed a snippet of “refuge” to his mailing list. No date as of yet but glad to see another single looking to be pushed before the album!
