Iceland has formally withdrawn from Eurovision! I'm very proud of my country and RÚV for making this decision and sticking to their guns. Eurovision doesn't bring joy anymore which is sad to say given

Boycotts are completely wrong, and unfair. If someone is against Israel participation don’t watch, or vote. Whoever would be singing for Israel has nothing to do with the Gaza conflict, they have not

  • Eurovision 2024 winner Nemo has handed back their trophy in protest of Israel's continuing participation

Yeah my thoughts are all over the place on it this year.

I normally know every song off by heart months in advance but I only have played each song a few times and watched them at the weekend (minus Isreal)

I have still been watching ESCToms videos on YouTube despite not paying much attention to the actual songs or national finals etc which I normally would do

As for if ill watch it, I’m still undecided. I think ill watch a few bits here and there but I’m not bothered about missing the majority, won’t be voting.

It is a huge shame all of it

at least we will always have liverpool 2023 😿

I keep thinking about this wonderful week, maybe my favourite week of the decade </3

Fast forward three years and I couldn't give a toss, and that is with my all-time favourite singer participating in the contest, which is proof that nothing could have made me care about it this year like I used to. Although obviously I hope Delta does well and is rewarded for her talent by the juries, the televote is a complete farce of late and I couldn't really care how she ranks on it, it means nothing currently. I don't see a way Israel doesn't storm the televote again.

I'll watch it, like Iz due to my curiosity, but haven't booked holiday like I usually do, won't vote for the first time ever, haven't put any bets on for the first time since 2004 and don't really care about the results. They've ruined it for me, for this year anyway. I don't know if there is a way back - I hope there is because Eurovision was my favourite thing to follow and it feels like a big loss.

I didn't even know Eurovision was this week to be honest, advertising has seemed a lot more limited and especially given it's the landmark 70th contest, I do think the boycott has had an effect and even though I'm sure it will still get decent ratings, I think this is going to be hard to shake.

I may watch it out of habit, but it'll be a passive one and I won't be voting. If Israel do win, then I'm not even approaching it next year though I will be amused from afar to see how they handle that shitshow x

at this point, i'm actively hoping that israel wins the whole contest and makes ebu deal with it. last two years made me fall out from the biggest passion i've ever had which was eurovision, and it's not even a boycott at this point. i just don't feel the excitement that i used to.

let them win and see how everything unfolds. i couldn't care less!

I totally agree. It's a pity they didn't win in 2025 because we'd be a year further into this whole disaster and closer to a conclusion.

Survey going around from the EBU, aimed at fan communities.

Recommend that anyone who is boycotting and yet still cares about the future of the contest take part, there's opportunities to show your level of concern about the contest's future, how fair it is and several sections where you have free rein to talk about what the EBU can do to alleviate concerns.

Like others I’ve watched/been obsessed with Eurovision since I was 8 - always so anticipated the contest each year.

I’m totallly meh about this year, the inclusion again of Israel, the toxic online fanbase and the fact this year just dosent seem very good - maybe it’s a combination of the above having an impact on me but I’m sad something I’ve loved for a lifetime no longer feels special.

In the end I (partially and not live) watched the semifinals and only liked 10-12 songs in total. But the top favs are SLAYYY so many countries do still make effort, which makes the whole thing even sadder.

I also filled in that questionnaire. Personally I strongly doubt it will make much of a difference as we are still in 2026 and for the most part EBU is a bunch of white people pushing boomer age but we can try.
