Based on the Game Changers books, this is making huge waves overseas. No UK release date yet but that may change with HBO Max launching officially here in 2026. The show is made for Crave in Canada with HBO picking up international rights.

Saw a lot of hate about episode 3 but i thoroughly enjoyed it - feel like they’ve been robbed of an entire series of their own 😅

best tv show of 2025. The chemistry between the two main characters Shane and Ilya is fantastic, it's insanely hot. Messy as hell but so entertaining to watch. The first 2 eps was an adrenaline rush, so it was good that in the 3rd episode, it slowed down a lot and expanded this world more focusing on different characters (Scott and Kip) and to give the audience a breather. 😂

Episode 4 looks like it's going to be an emotional rollercoaster though, can't wait. 😆

episode 5 was just phenomenal. I don't know how many times I cried. The quality of acting, writing, directing, it's all so impressive. The relationship between Shane and Ilya, you can't help as viewers but just soooo caught up in it, and are just willing them to make this work, or at least just open up more and be honest.

Sports has a long way to go when it comes to true equality and creating a safer, progressive culture for gay sportspeople to live their true lives openly whilst still competing in professional sports at the highest level. I love this show, the world needed this.

Can't wait for the final episode now for next week.

I should also mention the score and the song choices in this show are fantastic too. The soundtrack for Heated Rivalry 😘

Also I am intending to watch this so it is most definitely find for someone in their 30s. In fact let's just say that it's the ideal so that I'm only slightly too old to watch it

Episode 6 (final episode) is my favourite episode. I'm genuinely not exaggerating or trying to hype this show when I say Heated Rivalry is one of the greatest romantic love stories ever made in television and movie history. Everyone needs to watch this. And this is coming from someone that really doesn't like rom coms or any romantic movies and tv shows.

The moment when Ilya says "I love you" to Shane, I cried a lot. A lot. Just so beautiful.

The ending was perfect. I love, love this show. And the representation for gay/queer people, it's incredible, pure love and joy, as it should be.
