Shows the importance of Christmas Hits. Wham! were number 2 on the list last Christmas Eve, but only 4 yesterday. That explains the drop.

But today should be fascinating as they were still number 2 on the list last year (as the list didn’t vary) but are number 1 today.

I wonder if they will set a new personal best today! I can’t remember if they, or Adele, or Taylor Swift holds the all time UK record.

but have you seen the second version at number 160 with 1.824 M and the Pudding Mix received 864k

total combined 25.4 million streams

23.3M for Mimi globally, 1.5M less than last year.

The super Festive version with Justin Bieber did almost 2M

But that doesn’t contribute to Mariah’s total as it’s a Justin Bieber track.

That’s a brand new entry! From what I recall, it sounds terrible. The drum machine sounds so tinny. But it should mean ‘Last Christmas’ was Spotify’s most streamed yesterday.

It was and last year also

This became a Christmas staple at work. Happy to see it charting on the spotify charts now. 😂 A bit of a tongue twister to sing at times if you try to go too fast. Hope it can manage to chart in future years!

I don’t know what this statement refers to.

I do know it. I used to have it on a playlist. It just doesn’t sound right to me - it sounds as though something went wrong during the recording.

That's classed as a separate song, unfortunately.

10,553,094 Last Christmas (week ending 26 Dec 2024)

'Last Christmas' has done 7,584,766 on Spotify over 19-24 Dec, so would need 2,968,328 today to beat its weekly total last year, and 3,169,510 to beat the weekly record of 'Easy On Me'. Last year it did 2,983,342 on Christmas Day, so the first might be doable, but Adele's weekly record looks out of reach.

Being number 1 on Christmas Hits, it is quite possible it will beat last year’s weekly total.

Although the top 4 Christmas songs are struggling year on year, most of the rest of the pack is up (significantly in some cases) which suggests more diversified listening overall.

As much as we always get the same Christmas songs I still can’t help looking at Mr Brightside and thinking oh give it a rest 🤣.

I’m fairly confident that Mr. Brightside will survive in tomorrow’s update in the top 200 for the 1,826th day in a row since Boxing Day 2020
