“Pink Pony Club” must be 3x platinum now. I feel like this might be her biggest song in the long term.

Biography

A stylistically dynamic vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Lola Young builds on the traditions of Amy Winehouse and Adele with her smoky vocals and fearless songwriting. The South East London native made an impression soon after 2019's debut EP Intro, earning a nomination for the 2021 Rising Star BRIT Award. Her first full-length, 2023's confessional My Mind Wanders and Sometimes Leaves Completely, laid the groundwork for her brash 2024's album This Wasn't Meant for You Anyway, home of the multi-platinum, viral single "Messy." With 2025's I'm Only F**king Myself, Young gave listeners more of her unguarded lyrics and genre-melding sounds. - Apple Music

Biography

A content creator who spans every imaginable outlet, Alex Warren stepped out from behind the phone and into the recording studio to introduce his passionate, ultimately chart-topping singer/songwriter pop. By 2021, was crafting quivering, sensitive, confessional pop tunes that slather his open-hearted melodies with layers of gossamer electronics -- the glossy bed provides Warren with an avenue to process the trauma of losing both of his parents at an early age. The California native charted abroad in early 2024 before making his Billboard Hot 100 debut with "Burning Down" from his debut EP, You'll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1); it charted internationally while reaching the top half of the Billboard 200. In 2025, Warren landed a global smash hit with "Ordinary," topping charts worldwide. It was included on his full-length debut, the international Top Five hit You'll Be Alright, Kid, which added 11 songs to his initial EP. - Apple Music

Who called it? I did - I knew straight away that this was to be the biggest selling single of the year!

Shame messy couldn't hold on but , ordinary was and still is (unfortunately) unstoppable

Thanks for putting the chart of the year together Joseph! It's been great yet again

Pretty decent top 10 in all, although I'd personally put Ordinary right at the bottom 😆

Going to do what the UK Singles Chart looks like based on non-Christmas/charity songs now. Also ew at #1.

Messy, APT. and Golden are my faves in the top 10 alongside the obvious Beautiful Things, I don't hate Ordinary so it could be worse I guess x

Want to say a huge thanks to everyone for taking part today and for bearing with me for such a mammoth day - it's always exhausting but heaps of fun! There's no First Look chart show this week so I want to wish you all a Happy New Year, and see you next Friday at 4pm for the first chart of 2025!
