January 10Jan 10 Author And with that- thanks to everyone who commented and we'll count them down again in 12 months.
January 10Jan 10 Great rundown and thanks for your efforts once again @Gezza The Weeknd is a class act. One of the modern day acts I have time for. Some great songs in his catalogue
January 10Jan 10 Folklore and TTPD next to each other is pleasing on the eye can see Folkloee climbing back ahead over time, its really garnered a cult following over timeAdele falling 10 places with 30 is interesting though think it will take her releasing a new album for it to climb againMidnights dipping a little also doesn't seem to be holding up as well as folklore and might lose its position as 2nd most successful Taylor album soonDivide dipping but still performing huge probably a victim of the GH since half of its on there 🤣Rumour almost top 10 is crazy considering its age but it might still climb even top 5Top 10 we really in the era of the greatest hits now arnt we 🤣🤣Olivia, Capaldi and Eds multiply will probably be victims soon and fall out but testament that they are all holding on for now 🙌 Edited January 10Jan 10 by 777666jason
January 10Jan 10 Thanks for this Gezza - the list is sadly deeply uninteresting (!) but your effort is still appreciated. x
January 10Jan 10 Why they obviously still use double counting for these Fleetwood Mac albums ?It's all about streaming of the same 3-4 most well-known their tracks.
January 10Jan 10 The top 2 both a place ahead of their weekly peaks - guess Fleetwood Mac are now the favourite for #1 for the decade and can't rule out the album climbing higher in a quiet week or if physicals are ever pushed.Olivia Rodrigo now with the highest studio album is a slight surprise, although maybe Glastonbury helped her as well as the recent Lewis / Ed material not exactly setting the charts alight by their previous standards. I wonder if Olivia Dean could challenge for that by the end of the decade, although it is of course early days for her. (Edit: and it's more likely that Sabrina will.)Thanks for this Gezza!
January 10Jan 10 77. 1967-1970- The Beatles (NEW) 483,000 (t/s 1,330,000)Increased decade sales by 50k (since your original post) yet total sales fell by 600,000. Those are sales from 1994 so original sales from 1973 are presumably not included?8. Gold- Greatest Hits Abba (20-15-11-12-9) 1,234,000 (T/S 7,117,000)So ABBA have finally overtaken Queen. Wonder does the OCC and BPI know? Over 7m is a tremendous total. Should go 24 times platinum this year.

January 10Jan 10 Thanks for the excellent rundown. I thought I would be interesting to dissect the numbers a bit more:Released in the 2020s: 33Released before the 2020s: 67Male solo artist: 42Female solo artist: 35Group: 23British artist: 37International artist: 63Studio Album: 64Compilations: 36
January 10Jan 10 Cheers @Gezza for your hard work interesting to follow along with and readBe interesting to see how the list would look without greatest hits as they seem to be most dominant over time nowadays 🤣

I would've expected albums released this decade to surpass those from previous decades, guess people still love to listen to the oldies 🤷🏾
January 10Jan 10 No Taylor in top ten despite her releasing something every year. I would assume Folklore becomes her best selling 2020s album before too long.

January 10Jan 10 Definitely she should focus on her albums more. The campaigns always end before they even start.
January 10Jan 10 Na id say the fact she has 10 percent of the albums here shows her fandoms spread out on what they are listening to 🤣Now if she had a greatest hits it would be more concentrated look at Ed sheeran for example but Taylor won't release 1 for a while I doubt

If you look at the sales for ‘Rumours’, a large number of them are physical sales.Every artist is entitled to have streams allocated to both a Greatest Hits album and a studio album - it’s certainly not exclusive to Fleetwood Mac.They just happen to be an act who are doing incredibly well in streaming era. Do you feel Oasis should not have double counting either? If so, why do you pinpoint Fleetwood Mac? And if not, why not?
