Guys, if you're going to work collaboratively on a recurrent list, could you take the discussion to PMs please? It's cluttering up the thread! Thanks!

If anyone was wondering you could fit all Capital FM playlist threads from 2020 - 2024 and four months of 2025 into this thread...

Didn't even know it was AI.

That Riviera song (a cover of Sean Paul, mind you) is their only song and it only has ~183k streams in 3 months so not particularly viral - why exactly are they playing it? It’s giving suspicious.

It's very strange indeed. My guess is that they've paid for it as Capital have, in the past, been known to playlist songs by unknown artists that are not viral and most likely paid for a playlist spot such as 'Just A Girl' by Hayes Warner, Billy B & Kevin Rudolf in 2024. It's disappointing that AI songs have been making the Capital playlist recently when they ignore so many hits. Why isn't 'Choosin' Texas' on the playlist, for example? It's the 3rd biggest song in the UK at the moment and fits in with what they are currently playing.

That said, I'm not going to boycott Capital because I enjoy most of the presenters and their Jingle Bell Balls are always a good show but I just think their could be a little more thought into what music goes out on air.

Same for Man I Need - it literally hit 2 in the Big Top 40 when Perrie went Number one last year and even ended up on the COTY despite not even appearing in playlist. All we got from that was a Buzz appearance and nothing else. So Easy even hit the top 20 and spent a large number of weeks in chart

Summertime Ball is also great. Eventually we may end up with an AI COTY if we don’t appreciate all the new artists now
