It still blows my mind watching KM sing CGYOOMH on the On A Night Like This Tour. Before the explosion, before the acclaim, just seeing the audience either love it or be like 'ummm what?'.

(Eek at the video quality.)

Yes I often think of the innocence of the song then as neither kylie or the fans were slightly aware of the monster hit it would become.

Apparently... SPOILER.... "What Do I Have To Do?" is a lip sync song in the finale of Drag Race UK vs. the World Season 3!

  • Not that this chart means anything anymore, but 'Love At First Sight' is #1 in this week's TV airplay!

One of my FB friends from SayHey did an infamous blog post about that night where he said something like "she previewed a brand new song that's a tuneless racket and will never be a hit in a million years" lol

Just like I saw someone in that group make a swathe of posts when Padam premiered calling it a mistake. He must have looked like a right idiot a couple of weeks later!

In some ways I do get why ‘Head’ might have had a muted reception on the On a Night Like This Tour, especially a tour that was so camp and extra compared to a minimalist song like ‘Head’. When it came to release, it was all about the full package: the video certainly helped a lot but the final version of the song is a deceptively catchy song that would have worked it’s way into people’s interest and the promo/media campaign stepped up a gear following Kylie’s comeback story the previous year.

The first time I heard ‘Padam Padam’, I knew she had something special but obviously the stage of her career seemed like a big disadvantage regardless of the quality. Looking back, it’s so impressive that it made the Top 10 for multiple weeks. Pretty sure it was the first new music for a female in her 50s or above to reach the Top 10 since Madonna did it in 2009.

I agree about cant get you out of my head, on the on Tour it was OK but nothing major but the finished version and package was a totally different ball game and everything just worked perfectly.

On a different level padam padam was the same, like head it was one of those special moments in kylies very impressive career.

Padam Padam fit the blueprint of Slow like Kylie said at the very beginning of the Tension campaign but without feeling like a copy of anything she had done before.

Yes, very different to anything she done before but i have to say to Kylies credit her lead singles all show how versatile she as all the songs are so so different but i think we can say that about all her albums aswell.

How come Tension isn't top 20? That went top 20 on official UK charts....

The list is for global Spotify streams.
