Picking between the Conan choice and the Troye choice is like a Sophie’s Choice to me!!! Going to have to sit on that for a while. Both are sooo underrated within the artist’s discographies.

    Are you sure?

  • Also 'Lazarus' - that being right before 'I Can Die Now' in the running order here is a bit spooky x

Should these be the other round then eg Eric getting your +09?

According to Calum's instructions, you're supposed to rank your favourite 1 and your least favourite 9?

Yeah I think the +'s just confused me 🤣

Another super strong set here, full of good discoveries and favourites. I liked everything.

  1. David Bowie - Lazarus (I always thought this was a masterpiece and I appreciate the spread of eras we are seeing from Bowie in each round)

  2. Ruel - I Can Die Now (my favourite from Ruel so far, very strong and doesn't deserve to send him out but the competition is formidable)

  3. Conan Gray - Caramel (yet another great song from Conan)

  4. Romy & Fred again.. - Strong (banger)

  5. Les Rythmes Digitales feat. Nik Kershaw - Sometimes (good to hear a more modern number from Nik, as always it's pretty strong)

  6. George Michael - Jesus to a Child (a very beautiful song)

  7. Tone Damli feat. Eric Saade - Imagine (more Tone's track than Eric's but it's nice to hear it again)

  8. Troye Sivan - Angel Baby (I wouldn't say it's a Troye favourite for me but it's solid)

  9. The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk - Starboy (good track but I prefer the sublime I Feel It Coming from this pairing)

02 The Weeknd - Starboy (feat. Daft Punk)

03 Les Rythmes Digitales - Sometimes (feat. Nik Kershaw)

06 Troye Sivan - Angel Baby

07 Ruel - I Can Die Now

08 Conan Gray - Caramel

09 Tone Damli - Imagine (feat. Eric Saade)

'Sometimes' was a really good discovery 🤩

These George Michael selections have been on point so far. Hoping fellow slow burn stunner 'A Different Corner' also makes an appearance at some stage!

01 Tone Damli feat. Eric Saade - Imagine a BOP! Admittedly didn't think much of it on first listen but repeated listens has done wonders. heart Eric is surprising me of late! o

02 The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk - Starboy one of the Weeknd's best songs imo. heart the production is top tier. One of the few big releases of 2016 I stanned.

03 Romy & Fred again.. - Strong another pleasant surprise - fantastic discovery here! By far my fave Fred Again.. choice yet!

04 Les Rythmes Digitales feat. Nik Kershaw - Sometimes not super mad about this, but it's a solid track

05 Ruel - I Can Die Now another good track from Ruel

06 Troye Sivan - Angel Baby doesn't really do much for me but it's nice

07 Conan Gray - Caramel doesn't really do much for me but it's nice

08 David Bowie - Lazarus oops I feel a bit bad for ranking this so low considering the context etc but it's not my cuppa

09 George Michael - Jesus to a Child oops again, I can find some of George's ballads very bland and this sadly fits into that category. melb

  1. Fred Again - Absolutely loved this 🙌🙌😍🥰❤️(new for me)

  9. Nik Kershaw

Looks like very diverse rankings this time. Here is my order:

The concept of George doing so well with one of the blandest songs in existence!

selena

Omg. I really didn’t have him down as doing so well…

1 David Bowie - Lazarus (an artistic masterpiece pretty much from his deathbed)

2 The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk - Starboy (such a slickly produced and punchy track that has only got better over the years)

3 Les Rythmes Digitales feat. Nik Kershaw - Sometimes (a compelling slice of turn of the century electropop)

4 George Michael - Jesus to a Child (lyrically very powerful)

5 Tone Damli feat. Eric Saade - Imagine (a fun bop)

6 Romy & Fred again.. - Strong (I prefer Fred’s more avant garde stuff: this is more ordinary but not bad)

7 Ruel - I Can Die Now (quite a good pulse to this: his best yet)

8 Conan Gray - Caramel (like wading through a vat of caramel)

9 Troye Sivan - Angel Baby (find this rather moribund and the chorus repetitive)

Looks like Conan and Troye have lost the duopoly they had over the last few rounds. I can see The Weeknd winning this round!
