An enjoyable first ep; liked all the teams although Mark wasn't really for me. He seemed to belittle Margot the first part of the episode - but he did mellow a bit when they got stranded.

Andrew & Molly and Jo and Kush were my early faves

One thing though; literally every team when they were introduced - 1 said they were laidback and the other was a planner/ more uptight... it just jarred as literally every team said the same thing.

We have a very likeable bunch this series (not that we don't usually). I'm really rooting for Harrison and Katie to hold their lead.

Yeah I don't mind them all - Margot and Mark have grown on me a lot. Hopefully Jo and Kush manage to catch up, as it seems at the moment that they are on lock for the elimination. But I guess they went from 2nd to last, so it should be easy to reverse.

Have to say though... whilst I like Katie, I'm finding Harrison to be the most grating.

Saw the route on the subreddit and it is quite unorthodox? I do wonder how they plan to go Mongolia without touching Russia

Think all the checkpoints etc were shown in the first ep

Not sure how Jo & Kush finish the race now with how much of their budget they splashed on that.

Yeah it was a big wedge of money... and actually unnecessary due to how far back the girls were, but I guess they weren't to know

Also I didn’t understand why they spent the

night in a hotel before getting the taxi in the morning… why not just get a taxi immediately if that’s what you’re going to do?

Yeah they weren't to know. I thought they'd have made some savings somewhere though.

Also if I were them I'd honestly have saved on accommodation for this leg. They're down to, what, less than 50% now?

This round was all about getting back into the competition for Jo & Kush. Now, they’ll be able to work a bit more and get some money back etc.. it’s going to be tight for their budgets but I think they’ll make it to the end.

Harrison I just can't get on board with! He's miserable 99% of the time.

Really loving Mark and Margot too and Andrew & Molly.

Be interesting to see how much budget everyone has, as I think most of the teams are around 50% - which seems mad with some many legs to go.

It feels unfair to have to leave in the middle of the night if you're leading.

There's not exactly going to be much transport so your lead is squandered.

Oh wow, not on board with all the Harrison dislike in this thread. He and his sister are our favourites! I don't think he's really that miserable either, it's almost like a persona and he clearly smirks at some of the things he says and does, plus I just find them a wonderfully contrasting set of siblings that still clearly have a lot of love for each other really.

I have always wondered what the rest time is specifically because it seems to vary somewhere between 24 and 48 hours and doesn't appear consistent depending on where they are? I think it's supposed to be 36 hours so then you'd think that the pairs would try and time their rest break arrival but that doesn't appear to happen.

I always thought it was 48 hours so that people left with the same travel issues as the time they arrived? Could be wrong though

I think its 36 hours... i'm sure its been said a few times in various series 🤣

Just checking on the Wiki page and it says 36 hours on there too.
