Welcome to Pop Track of the Week 2026!

Each week, new releases from the worlds of pop and country are selected to go head to head, with one weekly winner. The winners will then go up against future weekly winners later in the year - at the end of each quarter and again at the end of the year - to determine the ultimate winner of 2026.

Week 11 results:

Kacey Musgraves - Dry Spell 7

Holly Humberstone - Cruel World 5

Melanie C - Undefeated Champion 4

The Pussycat Dolls - Club Song 3

Robyn - Blow My Mind 2

SIENNA SPIRO - The Visitor 2

Charlie Puth feat. Hikaru Utada - Home 1

Charlotte Cardin - The Way We Touch 1

Charlotte MacInnes - Struck 1

Freya Ridings - I Have Always Loved You 1

Charley - Bite My Tongue 0

Luke Combs - I Ain't No Cowboy 0

Total votes: 27

Kacey Musgraves takes the win this week with new single Dry Spell, topping the poll with seven votes in another week where a lot of votes are spread out across all but two of the songs. Rounding out the top spots in second and third are Holly Humberstone and Melanie C with their songs Cruel World and Undefeated Champion respectively (not an apt title for Melanie C this week...).

Week 12:

Voted for LUNA - sounds like BJSC bait too, is it too late to change my entry jk, watch it come top 5 for someone else now

That is difficult - I added the songs from BTS, Dagny, Luna, Niall, Tove, and Lizzo to my playlist, but it needs some further listen of them to decide. The songs from Cherry Bomb and Take That did nothing for me.

It is between Lizzo and Luna - both songs absolutely great - cannot decide right now. Good that you not put the new ALT BLK Era song - this would have made the decision process even harder.

My personal rankings for Week 12;

  1. Take That – You’re A Superstar

  2. LUNA – Heavenly

  3. Calum Bowie – Coming Up Stronger

  4. samxemma – Simple Solution

  5. Cherry Bomb – Digital Girl

  6. Ruel – Don’t Say That

  7. Niall Horan – Dinner Party

  8. Tove Styrke – Space

  9. Dagny – Dancefloor Erotica

  10. Boy In Space – The Man Who Lost It All

  11. Lizzo – Don’t Make Me Love U

  12. BTS – SWIM

1 Niall Horan

2 samxemma

3 Tove Styrke

4 Lizzo

5 BTS

6 Dagny

7 Ruel

8 LUNA

9 Calum Bowie

10 Cherry Bomb

11 Boy In Space

12 Take That

The Niall song is a cute catchy lowkey viber, not one of his best songs ever but continues his run as the 1D member who I think is generally most consistently reliable for a good single ('Drive Safe' we don't know her). 2-4 all have pretty good production but not a lot else to them (still better than usual from Tove for me but not as good as her last single). 5-9 are all generally fine but unremarkable. Did not get much from the last 3, Take That have pretty much fully turned into commercial radio slop now I guess.
