Official Charts Report

Olivia Rodrigo’s return could be marked with a fourth Number 1 single, as drop dead takes the lead in this week’s First Look.

After announcing she would be releasing her third studio album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, the first taste of Olivia’s newest era is vying to move straight to the top, joining drivers license (2021), good 4 u (2021) and vampire (2023) at the summit.

Can drop dead finally knock Sam Fender and Olivia Dean’s Rein Me In from its perch?

But Taylor Swift’s Elizabeth Taylor is also battling for that top spot, after a special violet glitter vinyl variant, including a So Glamorous Cabaret Version on the b-side, was dropped as part of this year’s Record Store Day (2).

The Coachella boom has given Justin Bieber a new lease of life. After reaching a fresh peak on Friday, Beauty and a Beat is now set to break the Top 10 and blast to new heights (4).

And Justin’s renaissance may also see former Number 1 DAISIES rise five (10), while there could be a return for an all-time favourite in Baby featuring Ludacris (21), which hasn't seen a main chart entry since its release in 2010.

Olivia Dean and Jools Holland’s stunning rendition of Carole King’s You’ve Got a Friend, released as a physical variant for Record Store Day, may see the British duo sneak inside the Top 10 (8).

Also following the RSD 2026 trend, Charli xcx’s party 4 u is eyeing a resurgence and a brand-new peak, following the release of a 7” crystal clear vinyl (12).

Elsewhere, sombr’s surprise drop Potential eyes a Top 40 finish (23), while the iconic team up from Tyla and Zara Larsson on SHE DID IT AGAIN also looks to position highly (25).

After a recent debut inside the Top 40, Prospa’s Free Your Mind with Cloonee eyes further elevation (30), as Lana Del Rey’s First Light, the theme to upcoming James Bond video game 007 First Light, looks to finish strongly (39).

Olivia ‘only’ #4 on Apple currently, would have thought if she’s a genuine #1 contender she’d be #1 or #2 by now but tomorrow’s Spotify update will be the real indicator I guess

We know Lewis can pretty savvy when it comes to wanting #1s too?! But I think Olivia could stand the best chance of being the next #1 it’s just on if she debuts there (she’s only actually debuted at #1 once before)

Yeah but hes just tacked it onto the end of the survive ep, which to me suggests he isnt expecting big things from it himself

Anyone know what sales Vampire debuted with?

Debuted with 55,614 at #2. Climbed to #1 with 43,211 sales with release of physicals a couple months later.

So she only really has to match that to beat RMI then as there sales should be even lower then that next week

looks like Bieber is getting a reset with Beauty and the Beat re-entering Top 10?

Edit: didn't realize it's already re-entering this week x

I don't know if it's just me, but the hype/buzz around this Olivia single doesn't really seem that big. Especially in comparison to 'Vampire' at least.

On the one hand I feel that during the gap since her last album, people have moved onto other artists.

On the other hand, even though I’m not inspired by her new track, I felt the same about the ‘Vampire’ initially but it grew on me.

Yes, there is a reason pop stars aimed at teens would bring out a record every year. Rock/Indie artists would go three years between records.

You don't have long in the teen market. Looking at my own teen music journey as far as larger trends go, when I was 12 it was Steps/S Club. By 14 kids either went US 'Urban' or Nu Metal. Dance music had been overtaken by lads mag culture. By 16 it was Indie/Rock. Incubus, Deftones, Evanescence, Jeff Buckley. Channel jumping between MTV2, Kerrang and Scuzz. Then by 19 I'd cheered up a bit and liked some Pop Punk, Paramore, Panic, Fallout Boy etc...Then by 20 Gaga had turned up and Dance music got itself back into business.

I highly doubt the teens are where they were 5 years ago but Olivia isn't moving with them.

Her Glastonbury set last year was pretty well-received and both of her albums still do consistently well, so I assumed there'd be a level of anticipation and interest.

I guess we'll see how it pans out.

It does feel like she isnt being "rammed down my throat" so to speak on social media like vampire was , and the fact she couldnt make number 1 on AM on say 1 considering she is supposed to be huge

That said Spotify number havent dropped yet she could of done 2 million for all I know

She has got physicals on her side this week so be interesting

With the physicals included, I would assume that she would make it.

Id be suprised if she doesnt have the fanbase that physicals would be the difference

Female artists tend to sell more physicals

But if thats the case I wouldnt be suprised if RMI went straight back to number 1 next week.similar to ordinary and manchild last year
