Posted May 4May 4 Welcome to Spolidifestivalen 5.You may vote for more than one entry - or none at all using the final option.Song One - Tasmin Archer - Lords of the New ChurchThe third single off her debut album, Great Expectations, which I prefer to Sleeping Satellite. The album version is included here because I love the harmonies in the final minute.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________Song 2 - Sophie B Hawkins - Right Beside YouLead single from Sophie's second album Whaler.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________Song 3 - Alison Moyet - Whispering Your NameThis was a remix of the album version, which was an acoustic rendition. Ian Broudie from the Lightning Seeds produced this version, turning it into a Pet Shop Boys-like upbeat banger. Edited May 4May 4 by Colm
May 4May 4 Right Beside You is amazing (as is Alison Moyet) - I’ve had the Sophie track on my potentials list before but I assumed it would be a veto, but maybe not!(I do like the Tasmin track too but it wouldn’t be a hit I don’t think)

May 4May 4 Voting Alison as it strikes the right balance of not being too well known like Right Beside You (which was in the top 75 of that year) but stands a chance of being a hit in the contest, plus it’s really good. Agree with Dandy that Tasmin would not probably he a hit, although it’s nice. Sleeping Satellite is in my top five of the early 90s probably.
May 4May 4 Sophie indeed is on my playlist of potentials as well , and I’ve actually confirmed in one of the forum contests not long ago, but it didn’t fit the criteria!!! With that being said, that gets my vote <3
Wednesday at 15:344 days Sophie B. Hawkins sounds quite familiar, makes sense if it was a hit. I think it would be between that and Alison Moyet, so I went for the latter as people might be less likely to have heard it!
Wednesday at 16:064 days Voted for 'Right Beside You', please try to make it popular on TikTok too, Buzzjackers, as its a bit forgotten and probably the best pop song of the 90s. Edited Wednesday at 16:094 days by TheSnake
Wednesday at 16:304 days Sophie B Hawkins represented Rolloland in 2018 in the Pride spin-off with another track from the 'Whaler' album, 'Only Love (The Ballad Of Sleeping Beauty)'. I like that album a lot, it has the same producer as Propaganda's 'A Secret Wish' album. You could always enter 'Don't Don't Tell Me No', another great pop song, if 'Right Beside You' gets vetoed.
