Due to her extremely successful Mighty Hoopla set the weekend just gone, I think we should have an Alexandra Burke Artist thread.

What would you like to see from tha Beast in the near future? Could she have a successful limited pop girl tour stint again? Pretty sure she's in the "Hits for Nostalgia Reasons" zone of her career now that I think it could be quite a successful run for her (providing she has no West End/Production Tours lined up - I really need to see her in 'The Bodyguard')

What are your favourite songs/albums from her?

Lets give her some love. I actually really miss her and feel she was incredibly mis-used. She had every bit of potential to break the US that if they even tried she would have been a huge star there too...

Gonna put this in here for people who may not have heard it before. Taken from her 2nd (under appreciated!!!!) album! It's top 3 Burke for me!

I think her doing Mighty Hoopla was an incredibly smart choice! Seeing the videos on Tik Tok and she's still got the makings of being a huge pop star! Usually when artists go into theatre they lose that pop star shine and go for the west end shine, but I don't feel it with her at all. An excellent live performer!

For your sake, I really hope she does The Bodyguard again, she was absolutely sensational! I've also seen her in Sister Act... But Sister Act (the musical) is hindered by its soundtrack.

As for losing the pop star shine once a popstar goes into the west end... Alex's only album since then was not the one. Lol

Saying that, I completely agree that she's still a fierce performer from the vids I've seen! I'd be up for some more pop bangers or powerful ballads in the vein of 'I Will Always Love You' or 'Listen', but I'm not sure they'd gain much traction (you never know though). I think touring the hits and seeing the crowd go wild for them is probably the best route for her outside theatre ATM!

Just seen the videos on TikTok and she’s better than ever omg! Her dance break in Start Without You at MH was insane!! And her vocals!!

She was done so dirty by Simon/Syco/RCA/the media/the public.

Has anyone seen the movie she features in, ‘Red Dress’? I was pleasantly surprised by her performance in it and it’s a solid movie too!

I really wish this was included on the deluxe version of Overcome. I think it could’ve also launched her in America as Bruno Mars was starting to take off then.

The Silence, Dumb, Overcome, Gotta Go, You Broke My Heart and It’s Over were all great songs from her debut album.

The Silence should’ve been top 10 at least

The building blocks were certainly there for a great second era and beyond. They really messed up her career along with a few others.

Sadly the writing was on the wall as soon as they kept delaying Heartbreak on hold,

Honestly I think too many people missed out on The truth is as well

It wasn’t the direction I was expecting her to go in at the time, but I do really enjoy it.

She was done SO dirty. Imagine scoring 3 #1 singles, 5 top 10s and a multi-platinum #1 album in your debut era, only to get delegated to a bankrupt sister label and given a shoestring budget for album two. 🤦‍♂️
