Brilliant again from Cape Verde. If Spain beat Uruguay like you’d expect, they only need a draw against Saudi Arabia to qualify in 2nd place. They were a better decision to pass away from winning today today too.

Uruguay will need prime Bielseball now in their final game.

What a game that was CV well deserved of their points as they should their attacking play in that game

Cape Verde with an chance of reaching the knockout stages. Another spirited effort from them.

Uruguay well I wonder what their dressing room atmosphere is like after that match.

That was a brilliant game of football and a fantastic performance from Cape Verde. No one can beat them by the looks of things! I would expect them to win against Saudi Arabia which would seal knockout stage qualification for them. As for Uruguay they are seriously looking at a group stage exit now after many people tipped them to comfortably be in the top 2 of this group prior to the tournament starting.

Really hope Cape Verde don't do a NZ 2010 and draw all 3 games then still get eliminated, Only chance that happens is if Uruguay beat Spain and they end up as one of the 4th worst 3rd-placed teams which seems exceedingly unlikely. Of course they could still lose to Saudi as well.

Perhaps we all shouldn't be too shocked by their heroics, I distinctly remember when they beat Portugal 2-0 in a 2015 friendly which was one of the all time great international shocks.

Meanwhile the Yamal glaze is ridiculous. One tap in and everyone's gushing... (not directed to this thread I hasten to add, just all the mainstream pundits and social media reaction etc.)

This will be the first time that Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia played each other in an international when they play each other in their last group stage match.

Last 3 Meetings Between Uruguay and Spain:

16/06/2013- Spain 2-1 Uruguay (Confederations Cup)

06/02/2013- Spain 3-1 Uruguay (Friendly)

17/08/2005- Spain 2-0 Uruguay (Friendly)

At World Cups

13/06/1990- Uruguay 0-0 Spain

09/07/1950- Uruguay 2-2 Spain

This could be the best group in terms of both games being close!

Problem is il probably tape them and watch them in the morning when I get up but then updates occur during the games.

truly hoping Cabo Verde wins this match and no random upsets like South Africa and Turkiye.

Can see Saudi performing really well today, as if they're playing against 2022 Argentina.

Uruguay might surprise everyone as well today...

Really want Uruguay to win their match, they have been unlucky in their other matches and I like their manager's tactics.
