We will have none of that B*witched slander thank you very much, Geri on the other hand carry on

B*witched were awful, they didn't deserve a single number one, let alone 4 of them! Definitely the worst of the big girl bands of that era. At least Geri had some decent songs (if we forget the existence of 'Look At Me' lol)

I think the posts here and in the other thread are very revealing as to the demographic of the posters..including myself. I guess I am too old to understand that Avril was considered huge by a certain

Alicia Keys is another I thought of, not big enough for the top 3 artists in this poll, but she has peaked at every position from #2 to #9.

The one who surprises me here is Janet Jackson. I’ve never thought of her as being that big (in the UK). And unlike, say Tina Turner, I rarely hear Janet Jackson songs played these days, or referred

The pair of you can zip it, Geri is worth every #1 and Look at me not being one of them is a CRIME! I was simply highlighting that Tina is a more legendary act than either that is all. whip

A few others that have shifted plenty of units worldwide and maybe should have been considered -

Dire Straits - 150M+

Genesis - 150M +

Eagles - 200M+

Dolly Parton - 100M+

Shania Twain - 100M+

Johnny Cash - 90M+

Linkin Park - 100M+

Def Leppard - 100M+

Pearl Jam - 85-100M

Black Sabbath - 85M+

Aerosmith - 150M+

Neil Young - 135M+ (if you include his work with Buffalo Springfield and CSNY)

Garth Brooks - 200M+

And of course the daddy of them all -

Bing Crosby - Estimated as much as 1B+ (White Christmas alone has sold in excess of 50M)

Garth Brooks is probably the biggest artist that 99% of the British public have probably never heard of. He's like to us what Robbie Williams is to Americans.
