Bryan has some good tracks. Everything I Do is emotive but a bit over sweet, I prefer his later 90s stuff When You're Gone, Cloud Number 9 and Don't Give It Up in 2000.

Rage had a good cover of Run To You in 1992 as well.

I love some Bryan Adams stuff... ironically not so much his massive #1 though! It's ok but Could number 9 (the original not the remix) is amazing and so is When you're gone and I love 18 til I die & please forgive me too.

I didn't realise how much I actually liked Bryan until I saw him last summer tbh, Summer of 69, Straight from the heart, Cuts like a knife, Run to you, Heaven, It's only love, Don't give up, So happy it hurts, Roll with the punches... all tracks I LOVE! He was amazing live too, sounded fantastic (and the added bonus of Melanie C being there too, what a great night 😍).

I can vouch for Bryan being great in concert, seen him twice. Everything I Do I loved at the time but overly familiar these days but plenty of other goodies like When You're Gone to compensate for the occasional dull ballad slipping out trying to recapture that glory moment. Run To You is still a classic.

Just moving over the 4 million mark in the UK Mariah is the third biggest selling female act of the decade. Her best year coming in 1994 when she was placed second behind Wet wet wet for sales of singles, that was the year when she scored her first and only UK chart topper of the decade with “Without You”. In total she achieved 16 top 10 hits throughout the decade counting her various duets, including 12 of them consecutively between 92 and 97....

Ooooh does that mean Celine is the highest female artist? Or did she pop up yet and I didn’t even realise…..

Mariah is third highest so there are two left. Celine hasn't been yet.

I am really surprised by Mariah, she was obviously bigger in the UK that I've given her credit for really, always thought she was like Janet, successful and a big act over here but never that huge like they were in America. Hats off to her 4 million over 16 singles is an average of 250k per single meaning technically all silver certs (obs some were bigger and some less so).

She enjoyed only moderate success in

Germany until

"Without You"was released.

So, this cover was, in a sense, her breakthrough in Germany also in Europe in my opinion she became huge because of that cover.

Maybe already a little with I'll be there that was also a cover song.

With her own songs, she couldn't really do that until then

Ken Lee was hideous, but at least Mariah had some gems in Fantasy, Dream Lover and that Xmas classic to compensate for hogging so many singles sales through the 90's. The BoyzIIMen duet also not forgiven for what it did to the US top 40, a veritable Rein Me In of the time (But not as good).

Yes the big names are starting to tumble now. Clocking in with 12 top 5 hits including 4 chart toppers Jackson didn’t let his litigation worries affect his output with a further 3 chart topping albums to boot. It was the last decade of success really, pre his death in 2009, as a new album post 2001 kept experiencing delays ultimately causing financial problems for the star, but certainly he was unstoppable for much of the 90s adding considerably to his sales and reputation.  He is one of two acts to repeat their showing from the 80s list (Jackson coming in at No 5 on that list)…..

Being top 10 for two consecutive decades is very impressive, there must only be a handful of acts that have managed that

Still doing good stuff in the 90's for a third consecutive decade, it was nice that Earth Song edged him into the top 10 comfortably, and I do wonder if Jacksons/jackson 5 sales had been added whether his totals would be even higher for the 80's and the 70's might also feature quite high up. Michael was always the focus of the band from day one, though Jermaine got some co-vocal attention in the early days.

If they carried on with the same level of success until the end of the decade there is every chance Take That could have topped this list, but that 1996 split cost them a top 5 place at least. The Boyband struggled initially with their first three singles missing the top 30, but between 1992 and 1996 all their singles made the top 10 with a record equalling 8 chart toppers in the decade. Within that period no act could match their sales and the band were the biggest single sellers of 1993 and led the 90s chart until 1997…..

The top 6 all cleared the 5 million mark!

Well Robbie was involved in 8 million sales then, give or take - I wonder if any act will beat that?!
