England fans' booing of hydration breaks is simply the best x

  • Yes, last night's match was boring. I've had several students who might have been expected to be motivated by the excitement of the World Cup admit to falling asleep. However, England are almost certa

Dreadful!

It feels like a cruel practical joke that Madueke and Spence are in this squad when we have players like Hall, Shaw, Gibbs-White, Palmer and Bowen watching from home, but having them start (and in Madueke’s case staying on for 83 minutes) feels like sabotage

One of the most boring matches yet, even other matches that have drawn have been more interesting

i just don't understand it...

Well it was destiny we'd get another group stage draw! Just wasn't the team we expected it to be x

Ghana played exactly the right strategy and England just couldn't break through, a contrast to last week really where both teams went on the attack, I'm sure Panama will be a bit easier, but a bit of a reality check to remind us some things don't change!

Tough watch - wouldn't read too much in to it as it's unlikely to ever get 9 points in the group, but so many things wrong with that. Too slow, players not making the right runs, everyone wanting the ball to feet, some terrible touches and decisions across the board.

This was inevitable once we won the first game, it's tradition to then draw the second so no need to panic. If we don't beat Panama though then they may as well pack their bags.

All the Southgate defenders must have loved that one.

I watched the last 20mins of this game, England had a one or two good chances but couldn't find the back of the net.

They should still be safely through to the Round of 32 though.

The first half was a big mess - most boring half of the tournament so far. Ghana defended very good, but England played also not very well. Second half was better - usually Harry Kane does not miss such an opportunity. It was not his game. Hope that Tuchel brings on Saka for Gordon in the next game.

Gordon and Madueke have both been poor in different ways. Gordon completely anonymous in both games and Madueke a bit too much headless chicken when he gets into the box. The wings definitely appeared to be our weakest spots pre-tournament and that is certainly looking the case now.

Gordon’s been ineffective, but not sure he was helped by Spence in the game today. Likewise with Madueke, his strength is when the game is stretched but he seems unwilling to takes players on outside and constantly wants to cut back inside. Ultimately we’re not set up to break down low blocks, but I don’t think we did enough either.

Weirdly our biggest problem was our inability to build attacks and find space. Not so sure you need Anderson and Rice for this type of game. I thought Rice was particularly poor and didn’t help matters.

Every time Rice took the free kick/corner we were like noo someone else take it, he kept hitting it too high and he still kept taking them

The last 15 minutes were the only bit where the pace actually got a bit quicker.

You spared yourself 70+ minutes of tedious bollocks
