Or it could be just a lot of people betting on if happening, possibly in the hope that they get a hefty points deduction. Fingers crossed.

It could be a season of struggle for Newcastle without Eddie Howe. He elevated them to what they've achieved within the last few years.

One very bad season shouldn't have undone all his good work previously but that's all it can take. I think he had lost a majority of the fanbase as well.

I do think he has taken them as far as he can if they aren’t going to invest in the squad.

3-0 win for Arsenal tonight against newly promoted Coventry to start off the season and now the annual scaremongering of whoever the defending champions are really starts to ramp up.

Absolute nothing game, winning a game you have to win to win the league. They let Coventry have the ball for large periods and sat off - just don't think you can do that in this league, they got punished a lot last season doing this.

Quirky fact of the day - Hayden Hackney made his debut for Everton yesterday. Everton became the first club to have fielded both an inner London borough and an outer London borough in the English top flight. It took them a while. William Sutton played a single game, against Derby County, in 1895.

Chelsea have fielded two London boroughs, but they were both outer London - Jack Harrow and Chris Sutton.

Figo at Barca and Campbell at Spurs will both never be matched again.

The season should end now.

Before Villa had their match, the bottom 3 was Man Utd, Cov and Spurs... would HAPPILY have ended the season right there and then lol
