But only for artists they like 😉

  • “2 MJ resurgence songs lingering around”. You’ve read it wrong and then proceeded to try and correct me for no reason other than to condescend. I’d rather you didn’t, thank you.

It peaked at 55 at the end of last month.

You’re right but, why wouldn’t you to be fair? lol

Let’s be honest, he will most likely never have a hit this size again, so milk it for all it’s worth.

Loving all the fresh music, a Scottish football song and well that's about it. Who knew it would get to this state?

And he should be thanking Olivia Dean. The song wouldn’t be as massive if it weren’t for her

It did after the video release, starred out last week with Aperture's reset.

Post-album singles are notably more difficult for every artist though, it's why many artists choose to avoid them nowadays. He mastered it with the Fine Line era, with Falling, Watermelon Sugar and Golden all being hits (while Treat People With Kindness was starred out on at least 2 occasions - album release week and video week - so never actually charted). Harry's House produced top 20 hit Satellite, largely fuelled by his tour at the same time, but Music for a Sushi Restaurant didn't re-enter the top 40 when it had a singles push even with the release of physicals.

Oh absolutely.

It couldn’t have been more perfectly timed, this staying steady in the charts with her popularity rising more and more then it pounced to number 1 in a time not much was happening in the charts and now it’s just stuck.

I reckon he’ll get her on his next album

If that’s the case, it’s pointless buying the single on vinyl. Just buy the album on vinyl instead

You could say that for every single that gets a physical release when it’s already on an album - fans and collectors will buy both.

I'm sure 'Rein Me In' would be back at #1 this week regardless of having another physical drop or not (unless Taylor has conveniently decided to leave another 30,000 CDs to ship until this week), it's already ahead of 'stupid song' on Spotify even excluding its multiple versions. (Of course this isn't the first time people have kept going on about an entirely superfluous Sam Fender physical drop but hey ho)

Oh it would be very smart of him to do so.

I think she will be in demand by a lot of talented artists, so I really wouldn’t be shocked to see her pop up on a few duets in the future.

I only buy albums even if I really like the song because buying the single for every artist I like as well as their album takes up too much room in my collection
