Argentina has such a luck. 🤦🏽‍♂️

To be fair, Argentina completely dominated the final 30 minutes of the match, hitting the woodwork multiple times and forcing several outstanding saves. It wasn't luck it was only a matter of time before they scored.

Reaching the semi-finals is about the best that this average England team could achieve but it's still frustrating that they were so close to reaching the final with just five minutes of normal time left. They'll just have to learn from what they did wrong this time and give it another go at the Euros in 2028.

i'm sure mbappe will play because he needs to win the golden boot

Hopefully

Argentina, just like Brazil, will always have fans all over the world, regardless of how they play. So the idea that "the whole world is against Argentina" simply isn't true.

Today I saw many people wearing Argentina shirts, and I went to watch the match in an Irish pub covered with Liverpool flags.

Haha surely on a wind up here? People like Argentina because of Messi. I'd say Argentina are comfortably the most disliked team in South America by South Americans and the geenral vibe, I have found is people preferred England to win over Argentina for Europeans. Of course in an Irish pub with Liverpool flags they will be supporting anyone but England 🤣

Well South Americans don't really ally with Argentina in many aspects...majority of Argentinians don't even consider themselves latino/a, so I can see why other South Americans don't like them as much!!!

I'm not joking. I just think the hate towards Argentina is being exaggerated at the moment. For example, whenever I see those Facebook posts claiming that all of South America supports England, there are always plenty of people from Ecuador, Peru, and other South American countries in the comments saying that's simply not true. In fact, those comments usually get more likes than the anti-Argentina ones.

I think many people don't really understand the South American mentality. The rivalries are intense, but the relationships between countries are much more complicated than everyone hates Argentina.

Even if England played the cleanest football in the world, that still wouldn't make them the most loved country or team. People don't choose who to support only based on the style of play there are many other factors involved.

Uruguay probably supports Argentina too lol.

Also, when you constantly see negative headlines and a certain narrative being built around one country, it can sometimes create its own echo chamber. People begin to believe that everyone feels the same way, while the reality is usually much more mixed.

I’m so tempted to stream Don’t Cry For Me Argentina if Spain win on Sunday

the idea of "The whole world is against Argentina" might not be 100% accurate, but it's definitely not 0% either, at least this year. Like, my TikTok radars are rooting for every team facing Argentina, yet YouTube (and some of the well-known content creators here) are cheering for the tango.

In comparison to 2022 when we were able to hold a watchalong (because it's 10pm), everyone went wild when Mbappe scored all those goals, yet only me and some people who clapped hands everytime Argentina scored.

So I'm pretty sure this will be similar to "Arsenal vs everybody" 2 months ago. If Spain wins, I'm pretty sure everyone will say something like "thank you for 'saving the football'," "It feels good to scroll the social media and go outside today," etc.

Got Talksport on. Had 5 Live earlier. Same really. OMG calling Tuchel a coward. Every caller calling for him to resign today, even before playing France on Saturday.

LOL at one caller screaming "he's not de man, not de man, has to goooooo. I been up crying all night" Oh get to bed or get a job lol. Sounded drunk..Cut him off in end..

I think people have been rooting against Argentina because they want to see an upset and not the same team winning back to back World Cups. Also the Cape Verde victory probably magnified everything further as they were everyone's second team and we all wanted their fairy tale to continue.

I'm not massively fussed on who wins it. Would be happy with Spain as it brings the trophy back to Europe but a back-to-back would also be cool to witness given how long it's been since that last happened. Would also bring Argentina to 4 WCs so only one behind Brazil. Plus we'll be able to say we lost to the eventual champions unlike in 2018 or 2022 (very much clutching there I know).

Wonderwall was set for No.1 with Three Lions just behind but streaming will fall now.

Fun fact there are over 100 different versions 😮

Under FIFA rules, Argentina could be banned for that Falklands banner but they won't be or FIFA wouldn't have a final and that generates millions in worldwide live TV fees and sponsorship, advertising etc. Probably their FA will get a big fine.

Early odds for final. 13/10 Spain 14/10 Argentina lol

The Madonna and Julie Covington versions will do me fine and if people were to stream that song, it would mainly be their versions
