It's highly unlikely it was Ed Sheeran's decision imo. Probably his management or the organisers or the venues who banned Macklemore, so I'm not sure how much of the blame he deserves, if any.

Ed had the final say on it though which is what people are upset about - he could easily have afforded to refuse to play the gigs in solidarity with Mack but instead he has allowed the stadium owners to have their way in the name of neutrality when we know Ed has publically taken political stances in the past...

  • I doubt many people would want to stream him if they're upset with his decision. If anything will get a boost it'll be Macklemore's protest song from a couple of years ago

Also, by saying nothing and allowing it to happen is basically taking a stance anyway. Being neutral really isn't an option in this scenario

Why did Ed even pick Macklemore in the 1st place when Macklemore is known for speaking up on this.

Well now by banning him they're bringing more attention to it so Ed really doesn't look good here while Macklemore is kinda getting what he initially wanted

Its alright the macklemore hypocrital videos from a few years ago are appearing on socials to balance everything out 😅

Apparently it's the venues who basically gave Ed an ultimatum - either he drops Macklemore or he doesn't play there!

Macklemore explains it here much better than I can.

Ah. I guess he could've chosen not to play at all. A lose-lose situation from his perspective. If he had his way they both would've continued performing as normal, but he explicitly wasn't given that option unfortunately. Hopefully after it's all finished they can find a venue that allows them to perform together, even if just to make a statement.

I've seen Nicole Kidman used all over my fyp on TikTok so not too surprised! Happy for Adela to get another hit so quickly!

Oh wow I wasn't expecting Nicole Kidman to rise that much! Amazing! I'm glad this will get her another top 40 and keep her out of the one-hit-wonder box. Still hope Ain't In LA can break the top 10 though!

Oh! Nice to see King of Leon charting with their new song at least, thought it wouldn’t make a dent.

...that's not their new song, it was a low top 40 hit in 2013.
