Do we get all the categories in advance so we can plan properly or is it revealed each week to leave us scrambling and make it harder? 😎

That's true: Sophie, Marina, Adele, Leona - perhaps even Agnes. cheeseblock

I know it’s been said before by almost everyone including myself, but damn the females are absolutely stacked this time!

I’m kind of either way on this. I’d like to be able to plan everything and plot out my path to potential glory, but on the other hand I like the element of surprise.

There are artists that in the grand scheme of things haven’t released that many albums! So the idea of unknown categories would make that interesting to see what those artists send

I guess just be ready with a flop, or album track at the ready if required... oh and a ballad - although that round didn't seem to go down that well in Series 2.

The next time European artists are selected it will fade in comparison to this one.

Who could come up with 12 more competing females that could make the series interesting? I don't think so.

Absolutely, I’ve got a good list of songs that should cover all of those categories already. Hopefully I’ll get the opportunity to use most if not all of them.

True, plus if there’s no restrictions on the next series I’m sure European female artists will feature also.

Amy, Duffy, Joss, Alexandra, Diana, Olivia Dean just to name a few. tongue

Also, was Olivia N-J eligible? She'd have been a good one with the Grease soundtrack in her back pocket. lol

Paloma Faith, Emeli Sande, Ella Henderson (with all her collaborations).

To be fair, I don’t think it’s a given that we’ll get another European version. I could be wrong but it feels like a spin off idea just to keep from the “enter anyone every time” concept running dry (not that it’s anywhere close to doing so!)

There could just as easily be a ~Stateside only spin-off where only American artists can be entered etc.

Quite a few of the artists I was considering were American, so it’d be nice to use one of them.

Wasn't there also a covers round or am I imagining that? If there wasn't that might also be a good idea for a category!

Either way I can't see past a female winning this, that category is just WAY too strong. And I know who I'd put my money on...

I think we should have a "top 5 most played on Spotify" week to flush out some big-hitters. gaga

Fortunately not as ABBA wouldn’t have been able to participate as they’ve never done a cover! The discussion about that amused me a lot last time though I couldn’t say anything publicly.

Seeing all the names listed down there, it’s really hard to see beyond Robyn winning this, as she has two songs that I think would beat any other artist on this list at the end.

It’s not always that simple though and all it takes is one slip up. I definitely don’t think it’s as OBVIOUSLY likely as ABBA felt from the get go.

Yeah on paper I agree it's Robyn's to lose. I predicted to myself prior to the contest even opening that the final would be between Robyn, Zara, Adele and The Beatles (oops!).

I guess the problem is the weight of the competition, especially in the solo females category, might mean their mentor can't sit on those songs right to the end to be able to progress and may feel their hand is forced at some point to send one of those untouchable songs early.

Robyn does probably have at least 10 bulletproof songs that wouldn't fail against anything else but one slip while everyone else sends big hitters and you never know.

Well, there was Pick a Bale of Cotton, and I think that would have been the end of ABBA! So yeah, probably not a level playing field to do a covers round.

I think you're vastly overestimating The Beatles' chances in a competition like this given Buzzjack's demographic!

As for Robyn, I think 10 bulletproof songs is a bit of a stretch but there are definitely 2 or 3 which would trump anything else. But as you say, these might be forced into being played early.

Personally I think it's Zara's to lose but we'll see!

I can think of a few who I am surprised didn’t make it in this time tbf that could be big contenders too. But yeah there are some big females this time round.

In the same would be more interesting for sure! 🤔

Probably, maybe they'd 'only' have done as well as Bowie did, but they have so many different routes you could go down with them and so many classics that I think they'd do a little better.

Will Zara get the indie crowd vote as much as Robyn though late on? Look how many synth and alternative leaning acts have been entered, especially in groups - once those acts inevitably depart before half or more of the solo females then its the likes of Robyn and Kate Bush that will pick up those voters' points over Zara imo.
