Killers have been murdered 17-42 with 'The Man', having had a surprise big climb last year to reach the semi-finals. More indie faves from Jamiroquai, Sufjan Stevens and Sam Fender also lose AQ positions as the tide turns back towards pop. We also rudely see Disciples drop 25-49 with one of the year's finest 'On My Mind'. Meanwhile DJ Khaled and Chainsmokers' huge hits of the year got remembered by the nominators again and return to the top 50 so they'll have to hold out for one last nomination next year. Taylor Swift's Reputation era still isn't too fondly looked upon as her two picks both fall well short (and LWYMMD goes another year without a nom). Jax Jones' 'Breathe' had previously placed in the 2018 round but doesn't improve upon its 49th position from last year, though he could still move into the semis with one of two songs to come.Auto-qualifiers40 36 158 Post Malone (feat. 21 Savage) - Rockstar39 38 162 Katy Perry (feat. Firstly one of my nominations in 'Cola' improves ten spots 47-37, yay. Jax Jones re-enters at 33 with 'Instruction' which I didn't expect was better-regarded than 'Breathe' but hey ho. It's also a good year to be named Martin - Mr Solveig climbs 46-30 with 'Places' whilst Mr Garrix shoots 52-25 with 'Scared to Be Lonely', both great dance hits of the year. Alas still not so much love for Mr Jensen down at 77. No stranger to a dance collab herself Anne-Marie also climbs in 55-34 with 'Ciao Adios' or alternatively 'Shower the Oats'. Calvin Harris takes a small slide down 28-32.P!nk takes a large hit to her support with 'What About Us' scaling back 7-35, her recent comments re. Ed tourgate can't have helped but if anything her being so high last year was the anomaly as she'd been 28th two years prior. Ed himself only takes a minor hit with 'Castle on the Hill' down 22-26 whilst 'Shape of You' is stable at 54. Niall Horan has the biggest overall comeback as 'Slow Hands' re-enters at 27, still not outdoing former bandmates Zayn and Harry. Losing semi-finalist positions we have Portugal The Man, Camila Cabello and Little Mix though the latter still have the more popular 'Touch'...Semi-finalists20 33 235 CNCO - Reggaetón Lento (Original / Little Mix Remix)19 27 236 Jax Jones (feat. In more pleasing news we have Jax Jones back in contention with 'You Don't Know Me' returning to the semi-finals up 27-19. Assisted by latest (flop) album 'Bass Persuades' we also have 'Malibu' escalating 31-18 for Miley. Kygo & Selena also continue to ascend 34-12 and now have another chance at success with 'It Ain't Me'. One of last year's surprise hits 'Scared of the Dark' returned at 19th last year for Steps and now proves itself further up to 13th. Avicii & Rita Ora also stabilise with 'Lonely Together' which is brilliant to see as it is likely to be one of two last chances for Avicii to make a RotD final again. MGMT stabilise at 15th to take the title of biggest indie song as one of last year's direct-finalists for Wolf Alice collapses 4-16. Albeit the biggest non-chart hit title now goes to Carly Rae Jae who ascends 14-10 now that fan favourite 'Run Away With Me' has had its decade run. Kendrick stays humble at 11th. Taking up new residence in the top 10 we have Paramore's last big hit in 'Hard Times'. Last and opposite of least there's a huge surge of support for Sir Calvin Harris and friends with 'Feels' having narrowly missed last year's semi finals now up to 6th place. Sunday at 20:212 days Breathe and both Taylor songs failing to qualify even for autos next year with some songs higher than 40 on that list making the cut is… interesting. Werk igYay for Niall making it at least and not a bad top 5 even if it is pretty predictable, happy for Lorde being runner up too! Edited Sunday at 20:232 days by Doug

Yesterday at 07:521 day At this point I'm looking to see if any indie friends will sign up for Buzzjack to replace the voters who've disappeared in the last two years 😭
Yesterday at 09:101 day Ooh, thrilled to see my Instruction nomination getting an AQ spot! And Zara now having two entries in the final CONFIRMED ❤️
Yesterday at 09:281 day Not at all surprising but Vitalic only getting 1 point aside from me was rude, shoutout to Jim xoToo many painful descents to mention (I'm really noticing the lack of Brer this year with the hard falls for songs like 'On Hold' and '3WW' so far...) but at least 'Glue' was on the rise. The campaign for that to become an AQ next year starts now!
