However, I also want to be fair to the songs included and want to listen to each song again before giving my ranking (ideally with a second listen for finetuning). With over 100 songs in the list this is quite challenging given that I also curate my own charts each week incl. extensive NMF listening (which blocks 2 days alone) + several other contests ongoing here. I don't feel that comfortable giving my ranking in such hurry, particularly for years I am not that familiar with it.

Saying you want to be fair to the songs like they have feelings. It needs to be the organisers of this event more than it needs to be ā€œfair to the songsā€œ.

If you don’t feel ā€œcomfortableā€ giving a ranking then simply don’t. If you want to host one for the 90’s and have it take over half a year of work and tallying scores etc so that you can be fair to the songs then you do that but don’t put that expectation onto others.

Am back this year... I had actually forgotten how messy the noms thread was and how long the count up takes 🤣

Iz used to run it solo, for many, many years though.... Christ knows how 🤣

It is very much appreciated the hard work the posters who host Record of the Decade.

Facts.

I’ve been on BJ since the start and I’ve always been mostly a viewer in the background but I always take part in record of the decade, I love it and am grateful for those putting it together.

Well, the work will be the same independently whether you give one or two weeks time for reactions. And I have written in the same post, which you not fully cited, that I appreciate the work of the organisers. I do the multichart once a month and know how much time it takes to compile something like this.

And I did not put any expectations on others - it was just a suggestion and I am free to put those whenever I want.
