I: Augurio) 152I guess one big thing to note is just how many new entries there this year, with different songs being nominated, however the majority of those actually end up not qualifying this year, with one exception which is to come. There is some big movement though with some of the AQ songs from last year taking big dips; ‘Risk’ drops from 39-69, ‘God's Plan’ drops from 37 to 66 and ‘It’s Not Living (If Its Not With You)’ slides from 35 to 53 and all out of the AQ zone. We also have drops for ‘Delicate’ which drops from 24 to 46 and ‘SICKO Mode’ which drops 12 places to 44. Other songs do take some big climb, with the standout being ‘Malamente’ which rises 25 places to 41st place, finishing 3pt away from Auto-Qualifying for next year. Special mention to RAYE who ironically takes the bottom spot with the song ‘Friends’ after taking just 5pts Auto-qualifiers 40 33 Drake - Nice For What 15539 61 SOPHIE - Immaterial 15838 56 David Guetta & Sia - Flames 16037 22 George Ezra - Shotgun 16236 29 Twenty One Pilots - Jumpsuit 16335 38 Lana Del Rey - Mariners Apartment Complex 16834 25 1975 - Love It If We Made It 16933 30 Bruno Mars (feat. There are also big climbs for ‘Immaterial’ which rises from 61 to 39, ‘Flames’ which rises from 56 to 38 and ‘Pray For Me’ which surges from 60 to 27. There is some big drops from last years semi-finalists as well as ‘Four Out of Five’ drops from 16-31, ‘Paradise’ slides from 13 to 29 and ‘Lucid Dreams’ falls from 14 to 26. ‘Thank U, Next’ plummets from finishing last year in 10th place for the year, this year it polls 25th, whilst ‘Sunflower’ dops 18 to 23 and ‘Happier’ from 19 to 22; all 3 also out of the running for this year. ‘Strangers’ manages a big climb for Sigrid, however in the end finishes 5pts away from the semi-finalists… Semi-Finalists 20 23 A$AP Rocky (feat. The last big climber is ‘Breathin’ which also manages to climb back into the semi-final line up after a big drop last year, it climbs from 26 to 12th place. ‘Let Me Love You’ also had a good year as it manages to climb from 17th place into the top 10 at 9. Whilst there are some big climbs, there is also 1 song which drops from last years top 5 and automatic finalist spot as ‘When the Party's Over’ drops 4 places from 4th place to 8th place this year. ‘All The Stars’ remains in 6th place and this year finishes 9pts behind 5th place…Finalists 05 12 5 Seconds of Summer – Youngblood 32704 02 Mark Ronson (feat. Miley Cyrus) - Nothing Breaks Like A Heart 33303 03 Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa - One Kiss 34302 05 Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper - Shallow 35801 01 Ariana Grande - No Tears Left To Cry 578 4 out of the top 5 stories remain unchanged, however with a little bit of movement as ‘Shallow’ climbs 3 places to become runner-up and ‘Nothing Breaks Like a Heart’ drops 2 places to 4th. ‘One Kiss’ remains in 3rd place whilst ‘Youngblood’ climbs 7 places to finish in 5th place and this year becomes an automatic finalist. ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ was pretty much unstoppable from the beginning, it picked up points from all barring 6 voters and finishes a clear 270pts ahead of 2nd place. It basically dominated the vote and despite there being 5 Ariana songs in the running, it didn’t split the vote and reaches the final once more with ease.Enjoy everyone Edited Monday at 14:042 days by ElectroBoy

Monday at 14:092 days Great to see 'This Is America' in the semi-finals and that landslide victory for Ari. Her results are pretty interesting across the board, with some falls elsewhere, but BuzzJack embracing 'breathin' more than last time.ROSALÍA getting a post-LUX bounce on the forum this year... I've dreamt of times like these
Monday at 14:282 days Finally made it through - was not very familiar with 2018 as I was more listening to older stuff in that year, so 80% of the songs were new to me (yes I have big gaps in the second half of the 2010's ). Still not the biggest fan of this era.Would have loved to have some more time for finetuning, but it is like it is. Wouldn't it be better to give 2 weeks for each year also in the light to get more votes? Are you really that in a hurry here?Seen now that I am too late, but as I ranked it now anyway, here are my 30 favourites:Top to Bottom30 Sigrid - Strangers29 Charli XCX & Troye Sivan - 199928 Calvin Harris & Sam Smith - Promises27 Metric - Risk26 Billie Eilish - You Should See Me In A Crown25 Eleni Foureira - Fuego24 Ariana Grande - Thank U, Next23 Troye Sivan & Ariana Grande - Dance to This22 5 Seconds Of Summer – Youngblood21 Dua Lipa & BLACKPINK - Kiss and Make Up20 Dynoro & Gigi D'Agostino - In My Mind19 Mark Ronson (feat. Are you really that in a hurry here?We have ten yearly rounds plus the two semi-finals and grand final so would take up half the year if we had 2 weeks for each which is dragging it out a bit too much. Until recently it was usual to have two yearly rounds in one week actually, so I think one per week is the best compromise.

Considering there is 10 years for 2 weeks, that's 20 weeks alone running this "contest" and that's without the pre lims (submissions), semis and finals, so you're suggesting that the people running this should be running this for over half of the year before getting to a conclusion? On top of that one of the people running it last year (I believe it to have been Dan) said how much this is to undertake alone and was hoping for extra support which it looks like he now has, which is great and allows this to keep going. It's a really fun contest, I love that this is quick turn over, some of the things on here actually take some time to get through, this powers through fast pace with weekly rates and enjoy it.

I did help out for about 3-4 years before last year. But I had various things going on which meant I couldn't really commit (in fact looking back I;'m surprised I did it in 2024... but I may have bailed when it came to then semis/ final write ups). Am back this year... I had actually forgotten how messy the noms thread was and how long the count up takes 🤣Iz used to run it solo, for many, many years though.... Christ knows how 🤣
Monday at 16:482 days Gutted at Delicate fell out of the auto qualifying zone ugh, same with Ellie not doing so well. Happy for Ari and Calvin/Dua however. My faves that I care about not doing so well will probably make the voting in the final a hell of a lot easier for me 😅

I of course appreciate the hard work Dan and others put into this project and preparation / conduction takes a lot of time. I also understand that it takes a lot of time to conduct this project with so many voting steps. However, I also want to be fair to the songs included and want to listen to each song again before giving my ranking (ideally with a second listen for finetuning). With over 100 songs in the list this is quite challenging given that I also curate my own charts each week incl. extensive NMF listening (which blocks 2 days alone) + several other contests ongoing here. I don't feel that comfortable giving my ranking in such hurry, particularly for years I am not that familiar with it.One question: I would like to have something similar for the 1990's - is it possible to conduct something similar in the 90's retro forum? Has it done in the past? I would be available to organise this.

I might be wrong though, as I rarely frequent the retro area
Monday at 20:312 days Sad but, based on this years trends, not unexpected to see 4 Out Of 5 miss the semis and Metric fall out of AQ (even Da Tilt's +27 wouldn't have helped). Bodes ominously for Doomscroller maintaining it's good performance later on...
