Decent round, strong 00s efforts from both New Order and Depeche Mode and yet another stunner from yammywhammy. Bananarama is indeed dated but it’s a whole heap of fun, Texas and Sade both very solid choices too. Fontaines is still growing on me but at the moment I’m not as big on it as I was the last album, Years & Years was always okay but it didn’t get many plays from me after the superb Communion. Ultravox a bit behind the others for me I’m afraid.

One of my favs ever from yammywhammy and Depeche Mode there. Fontaines and New Order good as usual. I'm warming up to Bananarama overall but the bottom 3 are not really my thing unforch.

Texas a clear number 1 for me

Fontaines best yet. Good ones from Sade and Years & Years too

Ultravox and Bananarama also solid too

Didn’t think too much of Depeche Mode, New Order or Iam this week unfortunately

01 Bananarama - Love in the First Degree (a classic! Joy personified and no competition for the top spot here at all)

02 Texas - Black Eyed Boy (one of the only Texas songs I’m particularly familiar with and keeping up a good streak for them at the moment)

03 Years & Years - Sanctify (always liked this but wouldn’t say it’s a highlight for me as it is with others. As I’ve said in other weeks thought, even their not best is going to be high up in this pack)

04 Fontaines D.C. - Marianne (probably my favourite Fontaines entry to date - still a bit of the darkness & aggression that maybe I haven’t loved in other entries of theirs so far but utilised more successfully for me)

05 iamamiwhoami - t (probably my least favourite Yammywhammy so far but still liked the electrónica vibe)

06 Sade - By Your Side (probably the least interesting of their songs so far, it has the potential to be beautiful but just falls on the side of not doing enough at all)

07 Ultravox - All Stood Still (actually my favourite of the three male 80s bands for the first time! Still obviously not a particular fan but a positive is a positive!)

08 New Order - Crystal (I liked the energy but got bored by the end)

09 Depeche Mode - Precious (didn’t really capture me)
