Same for 'Glassheart'. I actually think Leona was DOA as soon as Iz was assigned to the females! Not sure her music really appeals to him (I could be wrong though ofc!) honestly, I think I would have personally chanced 'I See You' from Avatar or her Hans Zimmer collab tbh - something grand/from the movies. I feel bad for their mentors tbh but I also do not begrudge any of those 3 judges. It was a brutal round!

It was a brutal round!Tbf Iz did say that Adele was in real danger of going for that reason but the song choice sent did save her as he ended up quite liking it so I guess the right Leona / Agnes songs could have had the same result for them. Have a read of their thinking a few pages back, it's really interesting actually, you can see all the thought that went into it. I'm gutted for Leona, she deserved more in her career and more in Pop Factor! 💔
Friday at 16:173 days I could imagine Iz saving 'I Trance' maybe. Think that is my favourite Agnes song besides the obvious!(I didn't vote for 'Here Comes The Night' in PFSC so maybe there's a reason I don't remember it oop, will see if it clicks with me more when I listen to these songs x)
Friday at 16:263 days I’ve listened to everything and would have voted like this if I were a judge (I’d have stuck solely to the chosen songs as I think that’s the only fair thing to do):Females01: Zara02: Robyn03: Kate04: Marina05: Adele06: Agnes07: Sophie08: LeonaTop 4 leagues ahead of the bottom 4 for me. Very close between Agnes and Sophie, could easily have swapped them round on another day.Males01: Gary Numan02: Damien Rice03: Calvin Harris04: Sam Smith05: Sam Fender06: Tom Grennan07: Darin08: HRVYNo shock that the twinks would have been in danger if I was deciding. Even the elder twink.Groups01: New Order02: Sade03: iamamiwhoami04: Bananarama05: Depeche Mode06: Fontaines DC07: Years & Years08: TexasI’ve surprised myself here when I realised I also would have reluctantly had to send Years and Years home.
Friday at 16:343 days I don’t know Agnes’ music really as well as I’d like, I shall have to check out all of these suggestions as definitely her earlier songs were very impressive. With Jonjo’s question, I suppose Leona was in quite a bit of danger with me (I think her best is Better In Time and possibly any dramatic film stuff she’s done I don’t know about) but yeah so were Zara, Adele and SEB from the start.
Friday at 16:373 days Here are my actual ranks for posterity:FemalesRobyn (Fave)ZaraAgnesSophieMarinaKateAdeleLeonaMalesDarin (Fave)Calvin HarrisDamien RiceGary NumanTom GrennanSam FenderSam SmithHRVYGroupsTexas (Fave)BananaramaFontaines DCiamamiwhoamiSadeDepeche ModeNew OrderYears & YearsBut I would have had to think beyond song as no way does Sam Smith or New Order deserve to go, for example. Just my preference. All of the group songs are 8/10 and above for me, the strongest category this round imo. Edited Friday at 16:393 days by gooddelta
Friday at 16:553 days I've had a listen to everything too... tbf I thought every round was really strong. Based on song choices alone this is how I would likely have judged were I one...FemalesKateSophieMarina (actually really shocked me to rank her so high as I haven't really been blown away by her so far)RobynZaraAgnesAdeleLeonaI feel really gutted for Leona but she would have been my last place vote. Adele would also have likely left compared to the above choices with Agnes scraping through, would have felt very wrong sending her home though. All the songs are really strong tbf, the Leona one is lovely but the only slight weak link for me. MalesSam Smith (this is probably my ultimate fave Sam song!)Calvin Gary (brilliant, loved this - and he would have been my danger act too so a fab choice)DarinTom Sam FenderDamienHRVYThe HRVY one did nothing for me personally, and the Damien one neither tbh. The top 6 I really enjoyed and I loved the top 4 so I would have made the same choices.GroupsBananarama (this and I want you back are my favourite Bananrama songs so nothing was going to beat that)TexasDepeche ModeYears & YearsFontaines DCNew OrderIamamiwhoamiSadeAgain I liked all the songs in this category tbf and I thought this was possibly the strongest of all the categories and really none deserved to go. Sade and Iamamiwhoami would have suffered though sadly, although I will say I think that was Iamamiwhoami's best submission so far.

Saturday at 22:381 day Have just listened through the playlist so here are my rankings xwomenz:1 MARINA2 Sophie Ellis-Bextor3 Kate Bush4 Robyn5 Agnes6 Adele7 Zara Larsson8 Leona LewisA big divide between the top 4 and the bottom 4 - the Agnes song is actually decent (I remembered it when I heard it, also checked and I ranked it 11th in PFSC so very nearly did vote for it there after all x), the Adele song is ok as well but not really a standout from her, have never been a fan of the last two songs. I forgot how much I liked the Sophie song! Although still an easy win for one of MARINA's best songs xmenz:1 Gary Numan2 Calvin Harris3 Sam Fender4 Tom Grennan5 Damien Rice6 Sam Smith7 Darin8 HRVYAnother big divide here but just between the top 6 and bottom 2 so would have been easy picks to eliminate for me - the Darin song is not terrible but not particularly to my taste either, sounded like an Enrique throwaway. I have actually heard that HRVY song before as it sounded familiar, it's shite. All of the top 6 are good picks, another pretty comfortable 1st place for the old man but yay for the moment Tom Grennan locked in and actually made a banger, and that was a lovely discovery from the Riceman.groopz:1 Fontaines D.C.2 Sade3 Bananarama4 Depeche Mode5 New Order6 Texas7 Years & Years8 iamamiwhoamiGroups being the best category as per as 'Sunlight' is definitely by far my favourite of the songs that I'd have thrown out, and 'blue blue' is by far my second favourite of them oops. (Though I did think it was the least good yammy song so far, sorry Pavita, I blame the fact she is ESL so maybe try sending a good Brit or American next time eh). Entirely agreeing with Jaz's decisions on this in the end though as it were! The Texas song is in fact another song I do know quite well but just didn't know it was a Texas song lol, not quite as good as 'Black Eyed Boy' but still nice to make that connection. Think these are my favourite songs by both Bananarama (either this or 'Venus') and Sade (not particularly close out of what I know), enough for them to place ahead of also good as ever picks from the two new wavers. Maybe it's premature to rank this Fontaines song 1st among this bunch but I've already been compelled to listen to it on repeat which is not something I do for many songs x
