Don't tell anyone but lowkey same, even despite being one of the oldest nations at this point 🫠 I guess that's what happens when you take years-long breaks and don't really know what you're doing half the time 🤭

And actually, I can't imagine the pressure of feeling the need to keep up these high positions in the YTD, or a long streak. I think after a while I might just not be able to find competitive songs that I also really like, and would prefer to just send whatever I want lol. This is the eternal conflict with BJSC, I've never sent anything I don't like at the time but sometimes there's things I would like to send to see how it would do and to introduce an interesting song, but I also just kinda know it would flop lol

I think that’s part of the fun of this for me, sending things I love and trying and failing and failing some more, because eventually you’ll strike upon gold, and it’s so gratifying when that happens. Obviously there will always be an element of sending something bc you know other people like it, whether it’s your “bloc” or the entire voter base, but that’s different than constantly trying to do market research for your next entry.

This is why I will sabotage my own streak in 2027 (that's if I manage to qualify in November) with stuff that may not work in BJSC.

I might even not enter in January to kill it off intentionally. This is most likely the only time I will ever be top 5 YTD.

This was the worst thing about last year, and almost put me off the contest. The pressure of being at the top, with harmless reminders about Dan and I in some kind of battle to the death. Haha, it does suck the energy out of the entire thing. Glad this year has been different!

I have had wobbles of pressure (Tiffany Day) since then, especially with the streak. Just need to remind myself that I couldn’t have done better than last year and to enjoy this for what it is supposed to be ✨🖤

Elëdan, Pagasa, Pestolia, etc, the nations with consistently delicious taste are enough of a reason to keep going either way

relatable lol if not for the pressure of staying in the ytd top 10 i’d have had my entry for next ed dead cert alr

Wondering if I can stay in the YTD top 40 with my final entries of the year (which atm are all likely to be pop orientated)

With only 162 points separating 5th and 12th, the lower half of the top 10 could change drastically with a few NQs and some big hits. 😢
