I made the same one

I'm thinking 70k max anyway.

Thanks, Mikey.

Great Albums Top 3, really pleased for the Klaxons, I was fearing another #1 for Norah Jones.

As for Mika, 10k in a day is pretty disappointing, really.

which is the Madonna album that is Top 10?

Is it the Live Confessions :o was that released this Week :o

Yes and Yes :P

Yes and Yes :P

Wow, i didnt realise

I must buy

I think the interesting thing to watch today is not IF Mika is still No.1 (that is pretty much a given) but how much the physical release shifts. I remember Gnarls last year sold 30,000 on download at No.1 then sold 200,000 in the first week of physicals. In todays climate, its unlikely Mika will manage such a jump.

Keep in mind that the market has changed more towards downloads since Gnarls's Crazy. Many more people have mp3 players, computers and getting used to buying online etc. The ratio of physicals has therefore changed. A new pop record like Mika's NOT aimed at under 18's will not be far off 50% physicals and 50% downloads imo. Slightly more physicals but not much.

I predicted in another thread between 60K and 75K total sales for Mika this week, still reackon that's a pretty good estimate, although looks as if to might be over 75K now, if first day physicals are 10K.

Shocked at Norah's Album though! It must go up during the week!

Well she has had 2 successful albums, and her single did not make top 75, for some reason I expected it to miss the #1 spot, I guess music taste is changing in favour for the indie/rock market, just have to wait to see how Kaiser Chiefs do with their second album, follow-ups albums are tending to miss their target, for example... Keane.

Mika has done 30k plus on downloads for the past fortnite, if he does the same for this week on downloads, with 10k physical for today, my rough calculation will be around 75k, sounds about right, I think.

I think it;s the UK public myself.

They only really care about 'what's in and new' atm. For example look at all the new acts doing well in both charts atm.

You can tell if a band has lasting power by the success of their 2nd album people say but most followups to huge successes tend to go to #1 anyway and sell loads just because of the entacipation surrounding it - many people will buy it because they bought the 1st only to be disappointed and then the album sells less & less. Clearly not the case with the likes of Snow Patrol & Razorlight however.

Is there any sign of Simon Webbe on Downloads please Mikey. I'd appreciate any news if and when you get it

poor Norah! :o

and YAYZ for kelis, why not vote for a forum for her :kink:

I know it is not the place to ask this but someone knows the Simon Webbe's Grace album sales?
I didn't think that Norah would have the big sales that some were predicting..but i was not expecting it to do as badly as it is...and I thought it would get to #1 :o

I havent' got a clue... its best to ask in the yearly up to date album chart topic when it gets posted later in the week, hopefully someone else can shed more light on it.

Thanks Mikey.

I hope the top 3 stays like that, would be one of the best top 3's in a long time in my opinion :D

Surprised at Norah Jones. :o

I have one of her albums & although it's nice relaxing background music it's all a bit boring & samey.

Looks like a lot of people feel the same & the first week sales of her new album will be way down on her other two.

Well, personally I'm not surprised. "Feels Like Home" managed its massive first week sale on the back of the popularity of the slow-burning first album. I think it's fair to say the second album was nowhere near as popular as the first, so a lot of those people that rushed out and bought the second album without hearing any of it are likely to wait a while before investing in the third.
